My 7th semester grades came back, and I fell from #2 to #4 in my class despite getting a 4.0, and I’m just looking for some advice on how to move on, forget about and take my mind off of it. The issue has been racking my brain, and I’m losing sleep trying to come up with all these different scenarios to get me back to #2.
Thanks for any help!
Why stop at 2nd place? Go for the first.
School is about learning. It is not a competition. Clearly you have done well. Enjoy how much you have expanded your mind and the fact that it’s a more interesting place to be. This is the first of many situations in life when you need to focus on yourself, not others. It’s hard, but if you can master this, you’ll have a happier life.
Assuming that your school has a decent amount of students, you are already in the top 1%. Don’t stress about it.
I wouldn’t lose sleep over this kind of issue. You got a 4.0 if colleges want your mid year report they will see those grades. Don’t stress about it, I mean what can you do higher then a 4.0 anyways?
I’m sorry if I come off wrong, but is this a joke? I study my a** off for B’s and C’s and an occasional A, you literally have a perfect GPA-- I would dream to have your gpa but can’t manage to get it. If you are losing sleep over dropping two places in your class, you need to step back and think what you are doing, because it’s not healthy. I know people on this website have such high expectations- where a 3.0 is unheard of, but you people on here (who lose sleep over a 4.0) need to get a grip. I know many people are going to bash me because of my opinion, but I feel like I should add it. I hope nothing but the best for you and your studies.
@studying4seoul I understand what you’re saying, but after all the title of the discussion is “Need help letting go”. I suppose that he/she understands too and doesn’t want to lose sleep over it.
@bwalts61 I’m sorry about your predicament. If you weren’t going to be offered a scholarship exclusively because of being salutatorian, your GPA should speak for itself and college entrances shouldn’t be based solely off of your class rank. Do you know if you were on track to getting a significant scholarship before slipping to 4th?
