Need ideas for attractive shoe storage for entry (with shoes concealed)

No, it was the one you posted just a photo of that you said was similar to use. Had a back, two, baskets, and space underneath.

I appreciate all your time and help!

@Hoggirl

Oh, yes, that is the one I own, which I was just explaining how some shoes (in your case, YOUR shoes) could go in the baskets and how other shoes (in your case, HUBBY’s) could go under the unit and they barely show under the unit (I have more shoes under the bench as well). Or there is the option of not using the baskets themselves. I had not suggested this unit to you, per se, as it is white and I thought you only want off white, though I would think this should look fine.

I’ll go measure the width… It is 36 inches or slightly under that last inch.

We had good luck with putting in odor eater type balls in sneakers and then spraying the cubbies with odor eliminators. Runners World typically does reviews of the best way to eliminate sneaker stink.

My foot doctor recommends spraying the inside of all shoes with Lysol disinfectant spray. I do it with running/walking/gym shoes–usually do it at night so that it dries by the next day. It does eliminate the nasty smell.

Well, now I am getting shoe storage benches ads in my FB newsfeed, which makes me keep looking. LOL

Here is a simplistic one, inexpensive, and may just do the trick if you don’t want the shoes to be enclosed, and is the right width:

Best thing for stinky shoes is a sock filled with cat litter.

I thought of this thread when I was browsing though Better Homes and Gardens (Feb. issue). They have wooden rectangular uncovered “boxes” on the wall (they are actually window planter boxes), and shoes can sit in them with the fronts or backs over the front edge of the box. You could pick the wood you want and how many you want on the wall/where you want them. May be too casual, but figured I’d mention it.

OP here - I finally made a decision. I am going with this shoe cubby from Pottery Barn:

https://www.potterybarn.com/products/livingston-entryway-collection/?catalogId=84&sku=3701575&cm_ven=PLA&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=Furniture%20>%20All%20Entryway&region_id=751260&cm_ite=3701575&gclid=Cj0KCQiA7YyCBhD_ARIsALkj54r_6GOTopRIFZ_GjFyXwhti-HT-fmYojimdFQT5WhyOZkWeUj4rw1saAlJFEALw_wcB

It fits on that short wall and will hold nine pairs of shoes, and I am hopeful that really flat flip flops can fit underneath as well. It’s not exactly a bench, but it does weigh 46 lbs, so I think it will be sturdy and one might be able to sit upon it. The shoes won’t be totally concealed, but I feel like they will definitely be more hidden than they currently are on my boot tray! :joy:

I am hoping the color will work well with our flooring, wall color, and the cream-colored hall tree. I chatted online with a person, and she assured me it had warm undertones.

I will report back when it is delivered!

Ooooh… I was so hoping you would post a photo. Perfect choice!

PS - I also love the wall decoration. The whole wall area coordinates nicely.
