NEOUCOM Application

Hey, I’m applying EA to NEOUCOM and I’ve been filling out the application. I’m kind of confused, however, on the personal essay.

Everyone keeps saying that essays have to be creatively written and all that stuff. But is NEOUCOM only really looking for facts with theirs or are they trying to get us to be creative like a lot of other essays are.

Sorry this is poorly worded, it’s hard for me to explain.

The topic:

wow, you have an essay? there were no essays last year

^yeah, so I heard.

Anyway, a better way to rephrase my question.

I’m thinking about writing about how I’m determined and then tell an anecdote about how I sat down on my couch when I was 2 and spent 3 hours trying to figure out how to tie my shoes.

Or about spending 3 hours learning the algorithms for the Rubik’s cube.

Anyway. Should I tell a little anecdote or just kind of list why I’d be good for the program.

do you think maybe you could incorporate both? for any other school, i would suggest using a little anecdote b/c its creative. but im not sure about neoucom. i think the best bet is to see if you can do both. sorry if this doesnt help

Yeah, I wouldn’t make this essay creative if I were you. I would just tell them directly about what I can do.
