I have brothers who are just short of a year apart in age (Irish twins). The older one grew more than a foot in 8th grade so went into 9th grade at about 5’10", with huge feet (huge) and looked like a high school kid. Younger brother didn’t grow in 8th grade (or 9th) and so went into high school looking like the 95 pound weakling. Same gene pool.
They both ended up at about 6’2"
Focus on the things your/your sibling liked about the school and why you picked it.
@mothere please send me a PM… thanks!
Hello this is a private message as requested
I shared a lot of the same fears you are having before I began boarding school last year. I’m not what you would consider a stereotypical prep school student, so I was incredibly worried about fitting in at an environment I was so unfamiliar with.
I also just finished my first year, and it was great. Your nephew is going to do amazingly! These schools have a diverse group of students and he’s sure to find someone just right for him. And he’s lucky to have such a caring person behind him.
@CavsFan2003 can you please send me a PM… thanks!
I am not a boarding school parent but have a niece and nephew who attended NE boarding schools including one of the “jocky” ones being referenced here. For a smaller kid if it holds any interest to him he might be a natural fit for a rowing coxswain. The lighter the kid the better. Added benefits include having tall, protective teammates and a nice EC.
