My views exactly. I haven’t seen last night’s show yet (taped it). But folks suggesting she’s affected by mood altering substances… makes me wonder if that is part of her bad judgment problem. She has not shown that unique voice quality in a single performance, really, since her initial audition. She shows it in the prep clips with the mentors, and then ditches it for the performance.

What a loss. The Megan who performed that last few weeks had to go. The Megan who could have performed… we never saw her.

The speculation I heard (just rumor, mind you) is that she started to get real homesick for her family (read: son), and since the theme was so open this week, decided that she was just going to perform her favorite song, regardless of whether it would send her home or not.

That’s why Simon said it would be pointless to save her - he fully knew this.

Plus, I think it’s stupid to imply she was on anything. The vote for the worst people have been calling her a bird ever since she did “rockin robin” in the first round - it was nothing more than a shout out to them.

Fly away silly Megan. Why do people become stupid after they’re eliminated and say things like “I don’t care” or “It doesn’t matter” - OF COURSE YOU CARE and OF COURSE IT MATTERS!! Someone out there might be thinking “Hmm, I think I’d like to hire that person” (or whatever) but making a comment like that simply cheapens them and the experience. Based on the broken hearts of those that didn’t get as far, THEY’D have gladly changed places with her.

First of all, disclosure: I like Adam ok, but my favs are Anoop and Danny.

So here’s the thing about Adam. He has obviously caused a buzz everywhere. He has a decent voice and is versatile, but it is not just about his voice when he performs it’s the whole package - what he wears, how he styles his hair, his crazy antics with his voice, his caressing the mic, etc. So, because of this, people wait anxiously each week to see what unfolds on the stage - not always because it’s superior in voice but entertaining to watch. Would many of these people pay to see a whole concert of that? Probably not. Some, but I don’t know about majority.

I hope I don’t offend any Taylor/Adam fans with this comment. It’s not intended because they both are musicians in their own unique way. The fans of Adam remind me of the fans of Taylor - it was fun to watch what “show” he would put on the stage each week…the over the top performances and antics (for lack of a better word right now) - but once the “win” was done - people were done. Taylor has had a decent career - he’s doing Broadway stuff on the road now…

But will Adam’s “fans” be there after the show, after the tour? I have read many Adam fans DO NOT want the win. (we’re an AI addicted family - yes, I read some of the message boards - sue me )Yet it seems he’s headed for it.

Just food for thought. Like my sister-in-law said, “the great thing about AI is that it allows us all to be a critic and for a few months, give us the opportunity to pretend we know alot about the world of music”. :)

Couldn’t care less about Adam’s sexual preference, alwaysamom, ADORE him no matter what. And I, for one, would pay to see an entire concert. Adam is an amazing performer with an incredible voice. I wouldn’t go to a Taylor Hicks show for free. No comparison.

I disagree abasket. I looked at some youtube performances by Adam, and he’s so much more interesting than Taylor Hicks could ever be, so I don’t see them sharing the same fate. I probably wouldn’t pay to see anyone who’s ever been on AI, but if I did, it would be Adam. There’s just something about him that I like.

And Taylor might not be the best example, but the best example AI that I could come up with to describe how America went wild over someone because of their stage “presence” but then didn’t follow up after AI.
