…Phew…10 char

what a drama queen! WTG Danny

she’s looks like she’s going to pass out on national television…on to “Lost”…Danny is great…

Thank goodness.

next week will be another tough one.

I’ve seen that look (on Tatiana) on performer’s faces before… right before they either threw up or passed out. I didn’t see all the stuff in groups where she was determined to be the drama queen, but from what I just saw after she was eliminated, I agree. I think she would have left the stage had she had the opportunity.

I do not like Adam Lambert’s Jonas Brothers guyliner look. Maybe the young girls like that though.

cartera45 - I agree with the vocal injury risk. I think AI should be providing some sort of professional consultation with these singers when they start putting in the kind of hours singing that they will now. Fix some of those bad habits before they end up like Jordin. I think it’s actually unethical for them to push these people this way, and not provide a good speech therapist, or ENT who specializes in the singer’s voice.

I thought Michael Johns and Carly sounded awful.

I HATE SEATTLE TIMES! Well, actually the folks who put together their TV Guide. Arrrgh, I missed tonight’s Idol because the %&$*@ Guide had the time wrong!!!

I was sorry to see that Anoop and Ricky didn’t advance, but I’m hoping for the wild card for them. This show has never really been about finding the best singer, so I’m not surprised. You just knew that Danny was going to go through to the final group from the first time they told his story weeks ago. He’s a likeable kid but his vocals just aren’t that good, and from the sounds of it tonight, he’s also struggling with maintaining his voice, as is Alexis.

I agree that Michael and Carly sounded awful, individually and together.

Michael is just bad - he also does this weird twitching as he sings. I think this goes to show how much influence the judges’ comments have on the voters (Simon hinting at america to give michael a chance to stick around)

As for anoop and braddy, yes there is the wild card, but don’t forget those wild cards are also for the other 2 groups as well. Might as well think of it as if they are eliminated.

Can someone please explain how the wild card will work? I somehow missed it when it was explained on the show. Thanks.

I’m not sure it was even explained on the show, but basically they bring back some of the people who didn’t get voted into the top 12 for a do-over, giving them another chance to get voted in.

I think I saw on another site that the judges pick the final three. We’ll see.

I liked Danny, Alexis and Michael - and I think that there’s a chance that Anoop and Tatiana will advance to the Wild Card round - guess we’ll see.

No Tatiana please…I can’t take the drama queen.

Well, you have to know they will put Tatiana on the wildcard show (assuming there is a separate show), just for the dramatics. Whether she will make it as a wildcard remains to be seen.

I didn’t see the run up shows so I don’t know what she did to get that rep. She just seemed a little loopy on the regular show. In my mind, she has a much more interesting voice than either Michael or Danny so if they are in there, I don’t see why she shouldn’t be

The selection process is flawed … which creates some odd results along the way … which the show probably likes as it creates some contraversy and some buzz. The selection process (supposidly) was 100% based on audience vote … but the audience votes for who they like … and this voting process can create some strange results. The results would be more predicatable and more accurate (meaning the less talented folks getting booted) if they changed the vote to ask people to vote for who should get booted. The current system assumes the least votes as the best singer equals the worst singer … and that is not necessarily the case. Here’s an absurd example. Assume last night there 12 singers … 10 very good … one mediocre … and one stinks. The votes get split among the 10 very good singers and no one votes for the mediocre singer (which is pretty much an accurate vote) … then 1-2 people vote for the terrible singer because (they’re friends, the singer is cute, the singer is quicky, the singer is fun on the show, whatever) … and bingo the lesser singer survives while a better singer gets the boot. The same thing could happen if they asked people to vote who should get booted … but in my fake scenario … the boot votes would almost all go to the lowest 2 singers and typically the worst singer would get the boot. However, trying to pick 3 of 12 to go through exasperated this issue with the voting … I’m sure the next couple votes (picking 3 of 12) will have a few “wrong” outcomes also. It’s much less of an issue when 1 of the group is getting voted out … but it would still help if they asked the direct question of the result they are seeking.
