@yellahamma thank you for taking the time to write about this. I may do the same. My S is still planning to board there, but it should be a choice that is supported by what’s best for the student and not forced by the University over a housing guarantee.
I think the thing that bugs me the most about it is that it contradicts the stated policy of putting classes online for safety reasons. They are actively incentivizing people to travel from afar and live together in dorms rather than making it easy for them to choose stay home and keep the dorms free for more social distancing for the people who have to live in them or who choose to live in them.
