I belong to a different online community where the users can choose what color palette they like for the BB displays. One of us might like this sandy brown look and someone else can have shades of pink, etc. It’s nice to have that many options. There are even animated smilies for anyone to use, personalized sigs, photo posting, etc. Obviously, CC has disabled those functions for privacy reasons. But, this new look brings CC more in line with what I’m familiar with. It feels modern now, not mono-chrome shades of grey.

The new white background is tripping me out. Somehow the blue was easier on these old eyes. Bring back the blue!

ebeeee…YOU can bring back the old color settings yourself. In the bottom left corner of this screen, there is a drop down box in white. Go there and choose CC. Poof…the old colors come back on the screen.

I agree…the pastels don’t work for my tired and weary eyes.

Thumper, thank you soooooooo much for telling me how to do that. I thought there was something wrong with my computer, especially since no one else had commented on it.

the blue is better because it also shades different parts of the threads, so it’s easier to see what’s a screen name, what’s the comment, itself, etc.

VeryHappy - There is another thread titled “I don’t like this” that is all about switching the screen. You are not alone. I got home yesterday from our road trip, and thought something happened to my computer while I was gone. I probably could have gotten used to the new screen - didn’t dislike it, just threw me. I’m getting too old for changes.

Had a fabulous trip by the way. So nice to see you, Thumper, and team_mom again! So much fun having friends all over the country.

Binx, give us as much warning as you can when your DS has a recital in NY, and DH and I will plan to attend. 'Twas great to see you too. (And I kept wanting to call you “Binx” all night.)

I like it!

i changed it back right away. the new one is horrible

Thank the gods for the button.

Well, I guess there were at least four different threads - now merged!

VeryHappy - No problem, I answer to Binx. It’s a childhood nickname that my older sister still calls me, and my H occasionally also uses. I met up with team_mom again at her hotel, and we were discussing various people we’d encountered on our respective trips, using our CC names. Her son stood nearby listening, and finally asked, “Are you using blog names or something?” I’m sure we sounded ridiculous.

Well…the discussion of my screenname at dinner on Friday was quite entertaining…don’t you think? Come on…how many folks have the name of a dearly departed DOG as their screenname? Next time Veryhappy and binx are around, I’ll get out a pic of the pooch!

Looking forward to that recital in NYC, Binx.

Hi guys!
There are a lot of threads on this topic. Even the “kids” in the cafe have several threads going. I thought the majority of the younger crowd would prefer the “new look”, but the response was surprisingly mixed.

I think the blue is a pretty color, but the white background feels harsh.

I am by nature unhappy with change but also aware that sometimes it’s for the better. I’ll live with the new look for a while and see. . .

(Didn’t like it at all when I first opened the site but I gotta say it’s growing on me. Brighter! And more colorful! At least layout is basically the same. Not at all like what Princeton Review did a year or so back. I still have a hard time finding stuff there. . .)

I like it. It feels organized! Change is good!

The previous format seems easier on the old eyes. Thanks CC for the button.

I wondered what happened to my thread! And Thank you for instructions on old format. I couldn’t see anything on that white background. Okay yup I’m old. It seems (cough) that I am not in the minority here.

Too much color, blinding! And the colors are ugly, baby colors. Hate it. Why is it changed?

Yep. I changed it back, too. Who let lilmom on to this fuddy-duddy thread?

New format too bright for me :(…had to change back. “if it aint broke - don’t fix it”
