I don’t usually watch AI, but, I have to say, Chrystal Bowesox is phenomonal, and her story is wonderful.

Did you catch the fact that the short clips at the very end, where they give you the numbers to vote, while they look like the performances you just saw, are taped earlier. This became clear because the clip of Bowersox was of her finishing her song, and she wasn’t crying. Just shows how complex this show is to put together, because the clips have the same lighting, staging, etc. of the actual performances.

Every aspect of the show is ridiculously overproduced (FOX is rather notorious for this) and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if much if the judges comments are part of that (why they don’t make sense)

I believe the judges have a chance to see them in some form before the live show, so that they have enough time to come up with lines. Except Simon, I think they may be writers involved in the show, for the judges to say something smart. Except for Randy, yo, check it out, pitchy.

We have been to see AI a couple of times. They do a full dress rehearsal that you can get tickets to if you do not get tickets for the Tuesday or Wednesday shows. I assume this dress rehearsal is taped and I do believe that the judges watch it from their dressing rooms.

The clips we see in the review at the end of the show are from the full dress rehearsal, which is why Crystal wasn’t crying. A few years ago I heard they do this so they have the time to pull together the clips they want to use.

And, then there was the night each contenstant sang two songs and stoned Pauler got confused and read the wrong judging comments, talking about song choice yadda yadda for a song that the kid hadn’t sung yet…

I wanna be Ellen’s writer. “I like you, I really do…” Repeat ad infinitum.

I thought Annie Lennox looked good.

Eastcoasters! Where is my voted off post? I need to know before I go TIVO it!!!

Who got voted off? TIVO stopped recording at 10:00 and it was still on Stairway to Heaven. Seems like the show must have gone way over.

Tim Urban is gone.

I hate it so much when the show goes over.

Boo, Tim is gone. I liked him; he was entertaining and positive. I wish Aaron had gone instead.

It went over by about 20 minutes!

Good thing I had you guys to give me the results…as far as missing the last twenty minutes-no loss. I found the taped pieces so overdone and the live performances medicore.

Yeah, it went way over. Of course on Tuesday Ryan gave a hint of that by warning TIVO folks to add time to their recording if they wanted to see the results.

I hope the next to go is Aaron. Good kid but sad, boring, not Archuletta

yes, glad to see Tim go. I think its amazing / great that all these stars go to these third world countries to try to make some type of a difference. I loved seeing David Cook with those kids. Its so amazing how far behind in health care they are.

Yes, next should be Aaron. Young, cute talented kid, but maybe he’ll have other successes off AI

Well, they did not like Crystal tonight. Funny, I enjoyed her performance. They seemed to like Casey tonight. Aaron performs next.

I also enjoyed Crystal’s performance…it was different (with the backup singer and the southern twang) but I liked it. I did think that Casey was wonderful tonight…best ever for him. Mike is always good but not my type. I just don’t like his sound. Lee sang first and although I loved the song, he started out very pitchy (guess the key was too low for him). Aaron has a wonderful voice but I have to close my eyes to listen to him (since he looks like such a little boy and the voice dosen’t match his looks). So yah, Casey is still my favorite tonight.

Well, I missed Mike and Lee tonight. They really liked Aaron a lot tonight. He was good, but I did not like his performance as much as Casey’s or Crystal’s. Oh, and I agree that Crystal’s performance was different, but in a good way.
