New Year's Eve - In Or Out Tonight??

Don’t think I saw another NY Eve thread…

So, plans anyone? At home or outside plans??? Curious to hear what your plans/traditions might be…

My plans are IN tonight. Not a fan of going out NY Eve and it’s FREEZING out there! Putting together a big pan of lasagna, going to start a fire in the fireplace soon, watch some tv and just relax. H is working but will be home in a couple of hours. D2 will be staying home with us. D1 and S both have plans to head out. Going to pull out a few Christmas cookies too - lemon bar anyone??!!

Definitely in. Also not a fan of going out on NYE, unless it’s a house party and we stay over. (Used to do that every year with a group of friends, but we are widely scattered now: Singapore, South Africa, Maine, and two deceased, alas.)

We are ordering sushi and Chinese food. (different restaurants). We will watch football games, movies and have a fire in the fireplace.

I wish we were staying in, but then I’d feel unpopular. We are going to a friend’s house. They have a small New Year’s Eve party every year. This year we plan to play games. Low-key fun.

But we’ll be home by 12:30.

IN for me. Hoping to watch a movie, eat leftovers - yes Christmas cookies - stay away from drunk drivers.

Same as VeryHappy, including all the details!

MaineLonghorn, maybe we’re going to the same place!

It changes each year. This year is happily IN with a roaring fire in our fireplace! Was going to do Chinese and younger son asked for Shrimp Scampi. Not a lot of work. Also brought home sushi for later and made “Blondies” for later too.
May play some board games for a change! Older son is away with a few friends skiing. He was originally invited to go to a bar in NYC and said, “are you kidding”? I’m not going near NYC on New Year’s Eve! Smart kid ;)

We were going to go out to the movies but nothing either of us want to see at all so now we are staying in, getting a pizza, looking for good movie OnDemand we can agree on and probably playing cards. Have plenty of beer & wine so will be good to go and S went to NYC for NYE so we have the house to ourselves, too.

Have a Happy NYE everyone!

In.
Ordering ribs from our favorite place. Assume there will be family gametime too

In. We are going to watch Georgia Tech hopefully win against Mississippi State. <:-P

In- gratefully! We aren’t big NYE folks. H and I will be home by ourselves. I’m thinking maybe Indian food. Hang out with the dog and cats and watch TV.

Out - small party with 5 or 6 other couples.Should be fun!

This is one of those times that I bemoan the fact that I don’t live in a place where it is possible to order in any kind of food at all. :(

Just got back from the Peach Bowl (Ole Miss v. TCU) - all 1 sided and not the side I was on. We’ll be staying in and watching the Capital One Bowl (Go Jackets!) and hoping Aubie wins the Capital One Mascot Bowl. They shoot fireworks off in our neighborhood ball park at midnight so I’ll bundle up on our front porch and watch that and smooch with my husband - I hope.

I was in till I got a last minute invite to go to a friends house. Casual, varied group. Should be fun.

Staying home. Kids have all left. H is going to watch a football game. I’m not a football fan, so I’ll sit with him and read a book. Compromise is that we’ll go to the movies tomorrow (Wild) instead of tonight. H made Tuscan meatloaf and I’m looking forward to that with a glass of red wine. <a href=“Meatloaf Recipes”>http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/seared-tuscan-style-meat-loaf

We are already out! Watching the sun from our hotel’s lanai, drinking Mumm. Will check out the lobby bar to see if there is any action later in the evening and then drink more Mumm. ;)

In alone with H. S is about to leave to go spent it with gf. Usually we go out to eat with either one, two or all three kids or visiting my sister and out with her and her S. Low key but nice. This is the first year, in many years that H and I are alone. It’s a crab cake night bought from a local fish market and made fresh by them.

H and I are going to NYC on Friday to visit D1 for a few days. That will be our New Years celebration!

I stay in. I am afraid of stampede.
I will start roasting a duck soon.
