NYU IT needs a makeup. This is so stressful. The page redirected to a welcome to class of ** in school of ** for a brief 10 mins. We were all celebrating. Now it has gone. If this were a glitch, this is not a good way to play with frail emotions.

It is so unprofessional! But it appears likely that those that had that glitch are likely getting in, who knows? They had something similar yesterday.

Does blank notification plan indicates reject?

At this point, speculation is futile. There seems to be all kinds of bad IT issues at NYU. Best is to wait for confirmation in < 30 mins.

Rejected time to rope

Trying not to be bitter but it is getting out of control. I am lucky my kids end up in great places, but it is never good to see them rejected.

Hopefully everyone gets in, I know Stern in particular hardly defers anyone. Not sure the percentage of people who get deferred that get in?

But the end of the story is… Accepted into Tandon Engineering for ED1. The housing portal is now active but not email. So, were the ā€œindicatorsā€ true? Who knows, but the news was good. I hope the best for EVERYONE, no matter what the results, as I firmly believe there are many, many good colleges out there. Best wishes.

Son Accepted into Stern’s BTE program!

ACT - 35
UGPA - 3.95

11 APs

Job, Community service, Volleyball, internship related to the major.

Daughter was Accepted into Liberal Studies Core. Anyone have insight on it? Wondering also if there is a rush to apply for housing.

Great program overall. Technically a branch of CAS. Ideal for undecided and humanities-focused students. Seamless transition into most other schools/majors after sophomore year. Not as ideal for students wishing to transition to Tandon, Stern or Tisch (requires internal transfer application) but still doable.

As for housing, just make sure to apply before the deadline. There is no benefit to applying early, as it is not a ā€œfirst come, first serveā€ process. All students applying before the deadline are guaranteed university housing.

Huge congrats to your daughter!

Thank you so much! This is very helpful. Are all of their classes with only other liberal studies core students and do they feel separate from the rest of the colleges?

What does BTE mean ?

Business Technology and Entrepreneurship

During the first year, the majority of classes in LS Core will be with other LS students. They are small, seminar style classes, which are really awesome (academically and socially). There are also elective classes, which are taken at CAS or other colleges (depending on prospective major and interests) with students from a wide swath of NYU. Plus, LS Core classes will fulfill all general education requirements for CAS and most other colleges. For many students, it really is the best of both worlds.
