Hi all, I’m wondering whether to take night school this term. It starts in mid-Feb on Tues/Thurs from 6:30-9:30 and goes until June. The course I need is English 11, so I can either do night school or self-paced (starting next trimester in April). I currently go to school from 12:30-4:15 on Tues/Thurs (it’s complicated) so I don’t think it would be that bad. I’m in grade 10 btw. Thanks!
@EverbluSkye it’s really up to you whether you do night school or self-paced. I was in a night class last semester (MW 6:00-7:20 at a place 40min from home), and it was fine. It didn’t conflict with extracurriculars, and I was able to plan out my homework so that I could still go to bed early on those nights. I would make the choice based on whether or not you have the discipline to do a self-paced course reasonably. Hope it works out for you!
It it were me, I would choose to take the self-paced route. However, your school schedule would make taking the night course doable. Between regular school and your night class, you could eat dinner, grab your stuff for the night class, with some time to relax (depending on how far away the class is from your house). You would definitely have extra time to sleep the mornings after your night class if you don’t have school or anything on W and F. You could spend your off days doing homework, studying, etc. I would definitely try it out.
