@stencils Yeah I’ve heard about that 150 as well. However, I’m sure they admit more than that. Not everyone who’s accepted ends up enrolling…
Hello everyone
My son got regular acceptance to Njit. We are waiting for honors decision.
Currently, My son’s online portal shows enrollment due 250 usd and creating NJIT UCID at the bottom of the screen.
Does this mean he is rejected for honors college?
Thanks!!
@engg2020 It does not show up in the portal with the UCID. My son’s rejection showed up in the original application portal then was followed up by a letter in the mail a week later.
He still received merit aid however & students can apply for HC again after their freshman year.
@Lastson4 wdym by “original application portal”?
@HelloWorld123
This is the application portal that people were checking back in December. That was where my son first saw his acceptance to the school of engineering in December & later in February it was updated with the Honors College status.
There are some posts about it on the 1st & 2nd page of this thread.
@Lastson4 is it the “Application Management” one?
I got my decision (BS Computer Science, not Honors) there, and apart from that idk any other portal…
@HelloWorld123 On the applicant status portal, it’s in small letters partway down the screen. At the top in bold is the “Application Decision: Admitted” message, then there’s the table of Application Checklist documents, and below that there was a message in small font that was new on the portal.
Decision for the Albert Dorman Honors College Application is:
Honors College Rejected (HR)
Then he got an official letter in the mail a few days later.
@Lastson4 Ah, got it. There’s nothing as such on my portal yet. Just the admission decision and checklist.
@Lastson4, so the status is being updated even if they get Rejected. It’s almost end of February and we still didn’t hear any decision on Honors College, we are getting anxious about it.
Anyone in the same boat?
My D just received tube-shaped package from the NJIT’s Honors College in the mail. It contained an NJIT pen and a welcome letter from Dorman Honors. The letter they had over 2300 applicants for 150 seats this year. It also said that the average SAT for the last year’s incoming class (class of 2023) was 1487. She applied EA and was accepted into honors just before new years.
@moms2024 Unfortunately, the letter doesn’t mention if they are done accepting people yet, or are still considering some applicants
@stencils, thanks for the information. My Son’s stats are SAT 1500, ACT 34, GPA 98.5. He sent an email yesterday to honors college, they said that his application is still being reviewed. Not sure what that means, just hoping for the best.
@moms2024 Those are stats consistent with typical honors college accepted students, so I hope you get good news soon!
Our student got a yes this week on the portal, keep hope alive.
Still waiting here as well. 1530 SAT, 4.12 uw GPA, but weak on community service.
Anyone still waiting for Honors College decisions?
Yes still waiting.
Same here, appeared on the portal on 2/27/
I just got Waitlisted by Honors College. How often do students get accepted from waitlist?
@puneetkumarbajaj Bhai what was your SAT score and GPA?
Also did you get any email about the same?
