No Free Time Worth Private School?

Not a boarding school, but a well-known regional private high…

I’d be getting on the bus at 6:30 every day and getting home at 7:30 as the school requires team sports and I would have a 2 hour bus ride. They also tell you to expect 3+ hours of homework a night, but I may be able to work on it on the ride home.

I’m pretty sure I’d be able to pursue clubs during the school day and I will be earning my girl scout gold award on the weekends, so I won’t be EC-less. They actually offer a better selection than my current school…

Currently at a “good” public high but not feeling challenged/stimulated enough. I considered taking college classes while here, but my school isn’t very cooperative when it comes to such things. Possible, yes, but a hassle.

So, would the 2 hour bus ride plus the death of all free time be worth the much better education and EC-opportunities? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

And have any of you tried polyphasic sleep cycles?
