No friends senior year of high school

I’m already a senior… but I have no friends. I’m super introverted and don’t have any extracurriculars. Besides the few people that I do partner work in class with, there’s no one who I can call a true friend. I’m afraid to talk to people because they already have their own set of friends and niches. So it’s awkward for a shy girl who barely talks to go up to them and start a conversation…

Join a club, team, volunteering, something.

Get involved!!! Join something you’re interested in and I’m sure you’ll find people who are similar to you and would love to add you into their groups. The library seems like a good place for you to start, see if they have a group you can join. Also, don’t feel bad about not having friends. Sometimes things just work out that way, and you’ll find more people who are meant to be in your life down the road.

My daughter is super shy and uncomfortable approaching people, too. When she started joining school activities and clubs, it was so much easier to connect with people of similar interests. Maybe set up a study session with one of the kids in your group projects.

Also, it’s usually easier to approach a single person than a group, which can be intimidating. Or if you see someone sitting alone at lunch, ask if you can sit with them.

Good luck!

Talk to your guidance counselor. They may have soem ideas on how you can get involved.

My D didn’t have many friends in HS. She worked part-time and found that gave her connections with others and improved her communication skills.
