No Guys at a Prom?!

Yeah, so my school is so weird. Does anyone agree that having no GUYS at a prom is NOT NORMAL?! My school tried to pass it off as a “celebration of women”. Pfft.

Yeah, yeah I do… but you in US are democratic (and democracy has strong propaganda)! So tell your friends, make a voting and if they will want, you can change it! Good luck…

well the vote will probably come out to whatever the adminstration wants…like our class “voted” for no weekend trip.

So what about revolution? Know you, like in the 18th (?) century Washington with soldiers won and England had to leave? I mean, they won, coz they believed in their right to be free. So if your peers think the same about your school, why dont to make a revolution against your schools “administration”? Btw, you dont have any “academic senate”, “students councile” or something like that?

yup, kinda weird, but as ppl ruin things, the underclassmen suffer.

“Celebration of Women”

Wow, that is hilarious!

Please tell us more about your school and its strange holding of a single gender prom!

Yeah, that “celebration of women” is a direct quote. They said it repeatedly, and were like, “IF you can’t hang out and have a good time with women, I don’t know if you guys are truly young ladies…Grown women relax and celebrate together-it’s a wonderful thing, this celebration of women! We must celebrate women! No guy is good enough for you ladies-there are no wonderful guys out there.”

Oh yeah, and Any guys who try out for our musicals DON’T get picked (even are mocked by the drama coach for trying out), even if the musical is totally guy-dominated.

I’m glad that you CCers also think this is weird. Some girls at school (I think I’m the only normal one, honestly) were actually in favor of the no-guys thing. But they might just be into that sort of thing, if you know what I mean.

I just don’t understand why the school believe guys should be excluded from their own prom…what do the males at school think of this?

Is your school run by lesbians?

(it’s an all-girl’s school)

that’s a sort of important detail you forgot to mention…

well now you tell us…

regardless, “celebration of women” is a hilarious name.

Why won’t they let you bring guys?..Its stupid to have it with all girls…

“Celebration of Women” - lol

You wouldn’t happen to live in Michigan? An all-girls high school did that here too. I guess only 20 people showed up and the rest went to an all-boys school prom that happened the same night.

Sounds like my type of prom.

“celebration of lesbianism” sounds more like it

Well the all-girls nature of the school kind of dampens the luster — imagine if a co-ed school banned the boys from attending prom! Still, the idea of prom being held without the representation of an entire sex is in itself pretty strange.

imagine if a co-ed school banned the boys from attending prom!

Haha, if a school did that it would be sued for discrimination. It would be hilarious though. Guys would dress up as girls to go.

aww man I would love to go and hang out with you beautiful girls :)
