okay so i go to an all girl’s school.
i literally don’t know ANY guys other than my friends’ friends who i’ve only talked to online, so basically that would be kind of creepy.

is it awkward not to have a prom date/a boyfriend in hs?

nope! i dont think its awkward, if you dont make yourself feel awkward. just go with friends and have fun!

Truthfully it probably will be if everyone else has one, but if not just going in a group of friends is always an acceptable and often fun alternative…

you should get to know more guys. prom is still months away

how does your school even have a prom if it’s an all-girls school?

haaah you dont even know how many girls have boyfriends.

i wouldn’t worry so much…if you really want to go then just make some guy friends. as for boyfriends…you’re not the only one without one!

meet some guys while there is still time. giving up now is not a good strategy.

go hang out by an all boys school. I’m sure there would be some datless guys there to choose from.

Deeptin,
DD is in the same boat as you, but has met plenty of nice boys through volunteer work and church. Are you allowed to go to prom without a date? At DD school it would be very awkward to go to prom without a date…girls with dates may view you as an interloper. Go out and start meeting some boys from the local public or private schools, maybe you and some girlfriends could catch some local HS boys basketball games! Strike up a converstion with guys at the park, Blockbuster, the library, the bowling alley, etc… Good luck!

It’s a lot easier for a girl to get a prom date than a guy.

Go with your friends, that’s what I’m doing. Don’t miss out just because you feel you need to have a date.

Ask someone on CC. :P

OR go to an all boys school, and during passing period, stand in the hallway with a sign that says “GIRL LOOKING FOR PROM DATE”. xD I bet you could get some guys that way, lol.

^ imagine getting an adult

Lol CC personals…

It seems like there are hundreds of these threads during prom season. Ha, ha.

No, it is not awkward. Lots of girls at my school go to the prom either alone (with friends) or with a boy friend. In fact, my dateless friends had more fun than lots of other people with dates (including me).

Oh, and even more girls don’t have boyfriends.

I understand it’s different at every school, but it’s not awkward at mine to not have a date. People who don’t have dates have just as much fun as those with dates.

Anyway, I asked someone to prom but got turned down. (For some reason I find this immensely amusing.) Now I’m back to square one on the date situation. I would like to have one just 'cause it would be fun, but I know it’s not the end of the world if I don’t.

…The search continues! :D

^ and my search hasn’t succeeded.

its supposed to be awkward at my school’s prom if you dont have a date. I go to homecoming with my friends every year, but for this jr ball I don’t think I’m going. I don’t have a date and most of my friends do, even though most are going as friends. Its kind of wierd how it happened because the “dates” were made solely based on circumstance, but it would be wierd because the “group” I’m usually with all have “dates” and I don’t. I would ask a friend, but all of the guy friends I would be comfortable going with are either dating someone or seniors–and I don’t really want to take a senior to jr ball.
so yeah.
I’ll probably stay at home and watch movies all night. and maybe go to some afterparties, haha.
