My school prints out who’s going where in the school newspaper. I took a gander and to my suprise, nobody, and I mean nobody, is going to what us cc’ers would consider an “elite college”. Even the salu. is just going to the average state school. There are a couple folks heading to BU though.

Is it anything like this for anyone else here? This kind of worries me lol.

Hmm I don’t know yet-they publish in August, but I know for sure that one girl hit about 5 ivies (including harvard, columbia, princeton)…She’s “hispanic” (really not, her last name is really hispanic-sounding), though she lives in the best neighborhood and everyone in her family has a lexus. She definitely needs the opportunities of aa.

Even from the best high school in the area 2 years ago one girl went to Princeton and another to BU. A lot of kids headed to UT. And this was a HUGE high school. CC is definitely not common.

My school is an IB school, but most people go to community college or a state school. This year was HUGE because two people got into Columbia and Stanford.

accepted: one got accepted to UChicago, Northwestern, columbia
another got into brown…some1 else i kno got into georgetown (except he could be lying to me cuz he’s desperate…meaning, well he’s not even goin to prom and he lied about havin a gf).

my school has a reputation of sending students to top schools, so…

^^ At my school it is very rare for people to get into top schools (as I posted above)
People aim for state schools, people don’t even know what the ivy league is.

My school has an interesting situation…there are really smart and motivated people in IB and people that take some AP classes…then everyone else can’t wait to drop out/flunk out, or they just don’t care, and are wrapped up in their own drama. 3/4 of our class might not be able to graduate…yay for public schooling.

You know, I just found out that a girl from 2 years went to Stanford and last year’s valedictorian went to Vanderbilt. Aha! All hope is not lost.

We’re kind of in the same situation as chipmonkey. About 10 people out of (i think) 33 are going to rutgers. =/

Then I think 5 are going to TCNJ, 1 to UMich, 1 to Princeton, 1 to MIT, and 1 to the seven year med program at GW. And I consider my school to be bad compared to CC.

Congrats Ranks. I envy you. I mean it’s great that you’re going to Dartmouth, but more importantly, you get to spend some valuable time with big Sam Andrew. Eli’s got some monster pop for a little nerdy, chef.
