Thanks, Great American. For the 20 JROTC appointments, how big is the “pool” of nominations from which they are chosen?

I have read about 200 each year but I suppose it can vary and I have not read anywhere that there is a limit on the number of nominees.

Per Great American, I think the ROTC nomination is a ‘bonus’ and you need to pursue MOC nominations otherwise you probably don’t appear like you are trying as hard as you could be!

There is a limit on nominees, I believe. The Dir of Admission said each unit can nom one, and if they’re an honor unit, they get another one. So if I’m remembering correctly, there is a limit but I’ve no clue what it would be. At any rate, the odds don’t seem particularly great from this pool, i.e. it’s no great shakes.

But as GA noted, once one gets the nom, it’s really up to the individual’s candidacy. I spose one might conclude this is not a particularly strong pool of candidates but there are particularly strong individuals in its midst.

I got a phonecall this afternoon…

I got a Senatorial Nomination!!
