F&P - it’s Cobb county - and covers Pope, Lassiter, Walton, Roswell and a few other high schools. I heard Chambliss received 70 requests for USNA and intereviewed less than 20. I thought their office did a suboptimal job handling the process - Isakson’s office was amazing, as well as Price our representative. They both really made the candidates feel special and managed the process with great dignity. My son received a nomination from both but Chambliss declined to interview him!!

As they say - it just takes one - I wish you the best in the process…

In GA this year they split it up because there were so many applicants so candidates only got an interview from Chambliss or Isakson, not both. I got one from Chambliss. Yay! After hearing jerseynbgs stats I feel good. I think Cynthia McKinney only had 10 or so interviews…

Cougar! Congrats all the way! One less worry down. IhopeIhopeIhopeIhope this time next year that you’ll be picking up your Plebe from the airport for the holidays!! Will be waiting & watching right here with ya. Hang tough through the crazy wait!

Thanks for all the kind words Jamzmom, Peskemom and Navy 2010. I haven’t seen a smile this big on the kids face in quite a while. She’ll probably split something when (knock on wood) the Appointment comes through. We’re all kind of beside ourselves right now, and the waiting is a killer.

Last year it was also rumored that you would only get an interview with either Isakson or Chambliss. My son interviewed with both. We didn’t hear of anybody who received nominations to the same Academy by both but do know of an individual that received USNA by Chambliss and USMA by Isakson.

The LOA was in fact sent to our Senator and Congressman.

Since our LOA copy was apparently lost in the US mail and the academy was reluctant to send us another copy your info helped us confirm its existance !!

Hey Irish_Rover…glad to know I could help out! I can’t tell you the number of times parents who are ‘ahead’ of me in this USNA world have come to my assistance. I feel blessed to be part of this family of families and able to help those ‘behind’ me too!

And YES, GreatAmerican - I DID go to church. I am the victim of a mental disorder titled: “I can’t sleep-in syndrome”. No matter what time I go to bed ( last night it was after midnight as my husband and I were at his Company Christmas party) I am up before 6am. So I was up early doing my usual thing - and that included popping in on this CC. Not only did I go to church I went out to lunch with the priest’s wife ( Anglican Church, married priests are OK) - so does this absolve me from fluffing off on the Lord’s Day??? :-)
