Our son hit the nomination trifecta, USAFA, USNA, USMA. CA-16

congrats to all who have received a nomination-
and hang in those that are still waiting!

How likely it is to receive a superintendent’s nomination, if you received a LOA from that particular academy?

^^^entirely posslible, but only likely after all your other nomination sources have been exahusted…

hang in…

Spider got a nomination a week or so before Christmas from Congressman Sam Johnson, 3rd District, Texas. Oorah!

I should add that we are tickled he got it from such a great, distinguished veteran. Sam Johnson served in the Air Force for 29 years, flew 90 something combat missions in Korea and Vietnam, was a POW for seven years, earned 2 silver stars. Quite a guy.

Congrats spidermom … that really does sweeten that wonderful news. Here’s that it pays dividends for the son and Sam.

Weren’t they mass murderers or something?

I am realising that the time differential between a congressman saying he is giving a nominiation to when the notification of the nomination reaches the academy can be substantial. Another delay towards a complete file is that published SAT scores take weeks to get posted in a student’s file.

I just got a call from Sen. Feinstein saying i got nominated. I thought they weren’t going to nominate me since i didn’t hear back from them for like a month after the interview. Still, great to know your patience pays off. Now i have a nomination from my rep and a senator

Congrats seairland. We never heard from either Sen’s office for an interview but recieved a Congresional nomination. So we feel blessed.

son Mike got a “rare double Nomination” from his local Congressman this past week - not sure how rare, as I think I’ve seen others here, but that’s what the letter said USNA and AFA - now to get over the DODMERB eye restrictions…

Anyone else from NJ heard anything from the Senators (Men / Laud)?

Dknightfam

seaairland_t6…Glad to know a CA kid heard something this year from one of our Senators!! Congrats!!

Come to think of it. . .

I received a second nomination as well! Got a letter right before Christmas from my MOC telling me I had been nominated for both USNA and USMA.

I guess getting caught up in applications and medical exams, I totally forgot about it!

guess our thorpedo hit the trifecta then…USNA, USMA and USMMA! (ended up at USNA…)

just goes to show that if you are a viable candidate, it will be recognized and the opportunities will be many… it’s the deciding that can be hard…

congrats, and best of luck! As for USNA and USAFA, GO NAVY!!! :)

Up here in Nor Cal we still haven’t had the interviews. Friday is congressman’s interview and Saturday is phone interview with Sen Boxer’s office. Seems like time is standing still until you realize half of the school year’s over!

Good luck on Sat. Here’s that you get you ticket @ Boxer’s office.

Best wishes for a great interview curious in ca! Relax & be yourself, speak from your heart. Our son thought the conference call interview with Sen. Feinstein’s panel was awkward, & it last nearly 30 min. Torture for a kid who doesn’t like speaking on the phone anyway!

P.S. Our son’s BGO congratulated him on being the Principal nom with our MOC for Navy, he said that’s his ticket to ‘Mother B’. Since he’s already triple Q’ed, <no loa=“” however=“”> he will definitely be sent an Appointment. This is correct? I’m sure he knows what he’s talking about, he’s been doing this nearly 26 years!, but it just seems to good to be true.</no>

I just recieved a nomination from my two Senators…I also recieved a nomination from Congressman Boehner.

The letter from the Senators just said congratulations for being one of our nominees… it didn’t really say what rank I am or if they even rank. Do you think it would?

daughter got nomination from congressman and a presidental nomination - the usafa used her presidential one . still waiting to hear from navy

Congressional nomination took one week to get to USNA, then another week before it was posted on web site. What a relief to see it in black and white.
