I have taken MTH 173, 174, 277 and will be taking 279 next semester and it seems like literally not one of them transfers to UVA.
Same thing with CHM 111, 112, 241 and 242.
Can this actually be true? They transfer to Virginia Tech

VCCS MTH 173, 174, 277, 279 = UVA MATH 1310, 1320, 2310, 3250
VCCS CHM 111, 112, 241, 242 = UVA CHEM 1410, 1420, 2410, 2420
It looks like UVA has special versions of math and chemistry courses for engineering majors. You may want to ask them directly if the regular math and chemistry courses can be substituted.
The pre-engineering advisor at VCCS should be able to help you figure all of this out. Go have a meeting with that person.
The classes you describe are the recommended courses for transfers.

You can take a placement test at UVa for which calculus class you will enroll in. Not sure about chem.
You are looking at the transfer equivalent for the College of Arts and Science. If you look at the SEAS equivalent you will see that the VCCS classes also transfer to the SEAS school as APMA class credit. Your CHM classes will also transfer to the SEAS equivalent.
It’s less interactive than the CAS version, but check it out: http://www.seas.virginia.edu/undergrad/pdfs/transfer_equivalents_2014.pdf
@EFLAILER Thank you so much, I had no idea they had more than one transfer credit calculator!
