North Carolina State Class of 2029 Official RD Thread

I think if people have been able to sign up for these events, that decisions will likely be out tomorrow then. Has anyone had any changes to their portal or withdrawal buttons returning?

No but I tried to register for an Admitted Student Chat and the error message is so specific: “Admitted student events are for admitted students only.”
So I’m prepping myself for a Waitlist (if they even WL, I forget) or a Rejection at this point.

Yes my daughter’s withdraw button came back sometime this week, I think. I know it was gone for a bit but now back. Not sure if that is good or bad but she can register for admitted events. So strange.

Ours is back as of today.

mine is not.

Ours has not returned and we are unable to sign up for any events

Is it a button, or a text link to withdraw?

They mean link. Saying button, but it’s just a link.

We have the link in the portal.

We have a change here: I was able to add my daughter to the waitlist for the 3/22 admitted students day. This morning I was not able to do that and I posted the error I got upthread.

We do have the withdraw link (I do not recall if it was there before or not).

We have a five-letter last name so I’m not going to bother with the Unity ID thing.

Edit: I see from a previous post that my daughter did not have a withdraw link. So I guess it’s come back.

Yesterday D25 did not have a withdraw link and got an error when registering for 4/12 admitted student day. But today can see withdraw and can register for admitted student day with no error. We will see.

As I stated earlier, the withdraw link returned today after being gone.

We can see the admitted students Explore NC State dates (Mar 22 and Apr12) and see where you select the number attending and a submit button. We can even see his name and info in a gray box above it. But my son doesn’t want to click it, so we are respecting that. Do you have to click it to see the error message?

I saw someone elude to this in last years thread that they weren’t even able to see the dates for the Explore unless they were “admitted”. Idk if this has changed.

I could always see the dates and my daughter’s name showed up if I clicked on a date. The error message came when I clicked Submit.

Similarly to tours and other admitted students days, my daughter got a confirmation email and if it ends up that she isn’t admitted, I will cancel the signup (although to be honest, I’m not super worried about it because it’s just a waitlist spot; I haven’t taken anyone’s spot).

We’ll see if it actually means anything tomorrow. I’m feeling hopeful now, and I wasn’t before. So now my hopes can potentially be dashed

I think good news for all who have withdrawal button back. We still don’t.

Thinking the link being there means accepted or waitlisted because denied wouldn’t need to be withdrawn. I’d like to think it just means accepted at this point/in RD.

One might argue the same about waitlist too because surely there is another process to dropping off the waitlist. It’s very different than being deferred I think. Also I think most people don’t drop themselves from waitlist if they decide to go on it in the first place. Typically you agree and wait it out. They just let it run out and be removed by the school. In June you typically get an email saying you were removed from the waitlist and denied admission.

Idk. It’s like reading tea leaves. This is his first choice and what we can afford as a family. So much riding in this.

Are we thinking that decisions are coming out tomorrow though since the admitted student tour signup is working for some and the withdrawal button is back? Would be nice to have another decision in regardless of what the answer is. The waiting is the worst!

I think they will come out today. Withdrawal button has returned as of very recent but still unable to register for any events.

So we suspect today? Cause i see the March 30th date for decisions is gone.
