Just an FYI – I didn’t realize until recently that NC State has an app for their various guides – particularly the Experience NC State, but also orientation, Greek life, and several other things. Within the app (I searched for NC State Guides to find it), you can see what’s offered for admitted students days, orientation, etc. Their admitted student days are packed with options – so much so that the “campus tour” is suggested to be included on a student’s personalized schedule (students can build their schedule within the app) only if they’ve never visited campus. Honestly, I wish all our D24’s college options had something this comprehensive, but I’m glad we can dig in deeper at NCSU bc it’s the college she knew the least about originally but now really loves.
Yes, we were really impressed with their open house day this fall for that very reason. We had already done a tour and were really apply to talk to people in departments and get a good sense of what was available accademicaly and socially on campus.
Looks like our D24 is heading to NCSU! She was awarded a Park Scholarship and is thrilled about that opportunity.
Congratulations to your daughter.
anyone deferred during EA?
Me.
My son was deferred.
Yes, S24 was deferred.
Deferred, it’s a long wait until the end of March !!
Yes, long month ahead.
Deferred. Does NC State usually do more deferrals than rejections?
My OOS daughter was deferred.
My OOS son was also deferred.
Looks like last year RD was released on March 24th at 5pm.
I heard they deferred a lot last year. Interestingly, my kid and all of her friends that applied got in except for one. All great students, but we’ve heard it was rougher in other counties.
For those EA deferred, did NC State ask for grades or anything else? My daughter was deferred and asked to send her grades. It’s her first choice. Same thing happened to her cousin and he was offered Spring admit which he accepted. Does there seem to be a trend that if you get acceptance after being deferred that it is for Spring?
I don’t know but I’m curious what you mean by “asked to send her grades”? My DD was deferred and in the general FAQs, they said she could submit a screenshot of her current mid-semester grades. Did you get a specific email asking for your daughter to submit grades?
My son was deferred and was a spring admit. It is the most likely outcome, but not the only outcome.
Are RD out?
Did your son hear back for this year or was this last year?
