My daughter had a second letter with her scholarship on her portal.
My friendâs son is finishing his first year. He did NUin in Dublin (first semester at non Boston location) and is back in Boston now. My daughter was offered NU Bound 3 yrs ago (1 yr at non Boston location), but she was under 18, so could not go to London. Oakland was her only choice- which is too close to home. She is at Cal Poly SLO. Our son just got accepted to NUin- and if you click deeper into the official letter, you can see 7 or so cities in Europe they can choose from the first semester.
NU In is explained on the Admissions website in detail. Locations are posted there now.
what is the likelihood of getting off the waitlist? from what iâve read it seems quite difficult especially with the abundance of waitlists this cycle..
Accepted NU.IN with a 5k merit scholarship (didnât know they gave merit to non Boston campus admits)
102.2 W, 100 UW, valedictorian, 1520, 12 APs, 6 scores of 5
Thank you! Donât see anything so I guess itâs a no.. oh well
I think you mean Global Scholars. Yes itâs different. I think itâs kind of better, you can choose which campus you want after a year like the main campus Boston and Iâm not sure. I was just accepted for the same program just I got Oakland and my top choice was NU.in as well but Iâm happy this is far better to me. Now I just have to fill out a form they added for me so I can get my financial aid package in 10 business days after uploading it to IDOC.
Double check the portal. Scholarship letter is under a separate section on the portal page. Also, make sure your computer allows pop up window. I had to change my computer setting to see my daughterâs award letter
Is the acceptance rate for each program / campus the same?
Did you check the Financial Aid Award? Mine doesnât work yet because they want me to submit a form via IDOC. Will work to get it done tonight.
nothing yet, need to submit IDOC as well..
Just checked the application and locations were ranked
- Boston campus
- London scholars
- NU. in
My son was admitted to NU in (his last choice preference) but was given a 5k per year scholarship. Why would they do this it doesnât make sense
If his stats werenât the best, they could do that. When they accept with NU.in, they donât report the people accepted in the program in the data that determines rankings and their first year profile. Spring has no data so when he goes to the main campus in Spring, his GPA would never be reported in their first year profile.
He is valedictorian. 100 UW, 102.2 W GPA, 1520⊠all 5s on every AP exam. I donât think itâs a stats issue
Accepted, NU.in - psyched!
The other reason Iâve heard is if you can afford it, they want you to do NU.in, I heard that usually NU.in students get little financial aid compared to others.
There is certainly a lot of unknown criteria being weighed in the NU admissions office. Sounds like your kid is a terrific candidate.
Son got in Oakland campus, Interdisciplinary Studies (not what he put down as his major but itâs a Discover Oakland program I think?) $31,400 scholarship grant a year, option to go to Boston after one year.
D got into NU.in. 4.0 uw, 1530 SAT, good ECs. $5K scholarship. Boston campus was Dâs first preference.
