Thanks for your information! I do put Oakland as my second choice campus. But on the admissions letter, it said this is non-binding decision.
Then you are ok to apply ED2 (and RD). I would still email the AO since you submitted the intent to enroll (I assume thatās what you submitted) even though you didnāt pay the deposit. Good luck.
Call them immediately and mention that you were so excited you didnāt really process what this meant and ask for a little more time to process. While the offer wasnāt binding your immediate response is now the issue.
Yes, but thatās not binding. Nor is it binding if the enrollment fee had been put down (although if reneging on the enrollment, the fee is usually lost). I do agree that giving admissions a heads up that the student will be taking until May 1 to decide on enrollment makes sense.
Frankly, my kid and I donāt mind to go other campuses for a year or semester then coming back to Boston. Life is about experiencing. Maybe thatās because we are local to Boston.
If your admission letter is non-binding, and asking for deposit by May 1, thatās what matters IMO. Even you submitted some intents to other campuses before. They didnāt put into the admission letter, itās either their fault, or they dont care since they are not short of applicants.
That would be my concern. A confirmation of accepting the acceptance and then not paying the deposit could take the option away. I would not just skip the deposit without clarifying with the school.
I grew up in the Oakland Hills and Mills is beautiful. Itās also always shared a close relationship with Cal - often (in the past) renting out dorm space to take overflow. Anyone thinking this campus is in a ābadā part of Oakland is missing out! My daughter got deferred to ED II, but Mills is still my first choice for her Freshman year. She was born in California but we immediately moved out of the country so for me itās her getting to taste our āhomeā. Wish us luck!
Iām assuming Oakland was not your first choice. I would think that if you sign the agreement, then you are accepting their offer. Read their documents carefully.
If Oakland was your first choice, it is binding. If not, then you have until May 1 to accept (sign) and pay as I understand it.
I grew up in Berkeley I totally get you wanting her to have a ātasteā of the Bay! Good luck!
Congratulations!
My D has similar stats but got rejected.I guess college admission is very unpredictable!
We are happy for your D though!Good luck!
I just got an email back from the admission, and they said with non- binding agreement, the deposits is what ultimately confirms the spot and intent to enroll. And Thanks again for helps and the advices for Oakland! Iāll definitely go there if I get reject from my ed2.
Bummer about your D, but sheāll land at a good place. Many options now!
I think perhaps her essay was key. I thought it was good, but maybe Iām underestimating.
Never saw her LoR - maybe they were amazing (doubt it).
So great that you have this option!

Did anyone who was accepted use RaiseMe for merit scholarship to Northeastern? It seems too good to be true so im curious to know if it pans out. My child applied EA.
Does anyone know if/when the Precollege Accelerate program information will be sent out for ED 1 admittees? I believe that that two years ago NU allowed up to 4 classes, and last year reduced it to 2? Iām hoping that they allow for both spring and summer classes to be taken.
