Northeastern Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

I am a Biology major btw for those curious

Boston for Comp Sci and Behavioral Neuroscience. Merit will pay for about 3 weeks per year of school :joy:

Accepted to Northeastern NUin Program! I was at first excited but I got $2500 in Deans scholarship so I most definitely can’t afford it and I wasn’t accepted into honors. I’m wondering what I did wrong and why? My stats:

IB student, 36 ACT, 4/698 rank, 4.48 W GPA, NMSF
Pretty good ECs with lots of stem (cs) and liberal arts, and I think a hook in combining CS and linguistics (especially with CS being such a popular major), one national award
I think good letters of rec and essay

I think what hurts is I couldn’t write more essays as it allows me to show my funny side and more of my passions. I’ve noticed I’ve gotten more money from those I wrote more essays for. Quite sad as northeastern’s global campuses and academics were cool

Typically rejections only come in the RD round. Given the number of applicants, most are deferred to RD from EA. ED and ED2 do have rejections as I recall as well.

There are several NUin locations. They won’t ALL have every major, but there will be a few for each. My son’s friend went to Greece this past fall and loved it.

This is your non-athlete daughter? Congrats! Wonderful news!

If you applied to be a NMFinalist, you have a very good chance to get the Northeastern NM scholarship. My son is a NM scholar and gets $15,000 per year.

Check bottom of these links has lot of info

Yes another reason I applied! I saw how generous they were to NMFs but I still would need at least 20, 25k per year to comfortably afford NU, especially when I’ve been getting more affordable offers from other schools.

Hoping this isn’t a sign my other college decisions won’t give much aid/honors! Hoping for the best

Yes . She is so happy. We were so nervous because the acceptance rates are so low.

If there is no mention of aid at all in the decision letter, does that mean it’s still coming? Or not getting any merit?

Son got into London Scholars for Business. Does anyone know people who have done that program? It sounds interesting!!

Daughter was deferred.

If deferred and choosing to be considered for RD, should they write a letter of continued interest?
