Anyone know the acceptance rate for this program? Looks like they have 300 in the program? Would love any additional insight.

Please do not lose hope if you are deferred. My son applied 2 years ago. He was shocked when he was deferred and had gotten into all of his other choices. But, he ended up getting in with a nice scholarship. He chose elsewhere but just wanted to give others hope.

looks like for his major he will have to start in Greece, Ireland, or Spain. Does anyone have any experience with any of these locations- good or bad?

If you are a national merit finalist, I believe you will qualify for up to 30K in scholarship per year. It was as high as 35K in years past but I think it was reduced some. You can call the admissions office to confirm but I believe it’s automatic if you designate NU as your school of choice by April 1 for National Merit. So don’t cross it off your list just yet! Congrats on the acceptance. My son is in his third year CS and it’s been a great experience so far.

looked at the same info as Bronzerfish so you’re right - don’t know 100% for sure until they release the 2024 locations.

@jcpharm Welcome to the Pack! I recommend joining the NU Parent Facebook group. Many parents know about the various NUin locations.

Daughter was deferred as well.

Not quite sure what to think of it just yet because she profiles well for the school (basically 4 years of all A grades at a very good public HS, 10 APs, some ECEs and rest honors), low 1500 SATs, soccer, winner of schools RIT Woman in STEM award.

She did explicitly state main campus or bust (she did not want a satellite campus experience or London, etc). I presume the school is deferring a lot of well qualified kids at this stage. It is what it is, but she profiles exactly like their preferred student and in the upper quadrant statistically. We did get her CSS in a tad late and that may be a factor as well.

Without merit she’s a no go for the school anyway as she now has several options of similar strength schools at 50-65% of the cost of NE, so hopefully deferred doesn’t mean no merit chances.

Congrats to all who did get accepted!
