My daughter was accepted last year and was fairly set on it until getting into her top choice. It’s an amazing program and there is a great Facebook group: N.U.in Families and Alumni | Facebook with so much information. Even though she is super happy where she landed, we are both a little sad that she wasn’t able to take advantage of this opportunity!

Deferred does not mean no merit for Northeastern.
D24 accepted for CS in the Oakland campus (listed as her second choice) with a Dean’s Scholarship ($2500/year). Here’s her stats for those tracking for RD:
1540 SAT, 98 UWGPA, 103 WGPA, 12 APs, 2 high level DE math courses, 2/420 class rank, decent EC all stem/CS related, and community volunteering.
We toured NU Boston last year so she showed interest. But we are Ga residents and the Zell Miller scholarship/funding and Georgia Tech make leaving Ga for CS a very hard sell. I’m sure NU knew that, but their experiential learning is very cool. Good luck to all receiving and waiting for decisions still.

Super easy to change your major in the portal after acceptance. My daughter changed hers to have access to more NU.in locations and it was literally just changing the value in the pull down.
Good to know that it is so easy to change a major. I was afraid that it might impact the admission decision.

It looks like Northeastern has changed the notification process again. All decisions came out at 7 PM EST instead of in waves.
Congratulations to all those admitted!
Regarding the lack of denials, students who are denied are less likely to report that here. 50,000 decisions went out and only about 100 have reported here.

im also in the zeemee and several ppl were outright rejected. definitely seemed like more deferrals than rejections tho
At least one person reported here that need based grants will not be announced until later, due likely to the new FAFSA confusion. If you were accepted, don’t give up for financial reasons until the need aid is announced.

I don’t see how to send a link but if you search Facebook for the “Northeastern University Parents Facebook Group” and look for the heading I posted, you should be able to find it and ask to become a member of the group.
I would ask Admissions your question about how soon someone can change their major.

I don’t think they send any clothing. Maybe a sticker and they used to send a sign “Northeastern Bound” for outside the house but not sure if they still do. You can buy a sweatshirt online through the NU bookstore or Fanatics.
