Northeastern Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

Congratulations! FWIW, when C24 got into one school (not Northeastern) last week, the letter with their merit award didn’t come with their admission. It showed up on their portal the next day.

D24 was EA deferred and was just accepted into London Global scholars for business. Not sure what to make of it. Better than an outright rejection or waitlist…. And better than getting offered the Oakland campus. Anyone have any direct experience in the program in London?

Congrats, my son is looking at that program for next year! Not many good music tech programs out there…

Yes very few good schools with Music Tech/Production

Thanks. My DD got into a bunch of good programs with very good scholarships with almost 40% off tuition.
NU is quite expensive!!

The only thing we have a bit sentimental about NU as My son is a Junior now CS major

Daughter waitlisted RD CAMD

DD deferred EA, now accepted to Oakland.
3.9 uw, highest rigor, test optional, lots of leadership and ECs in and outside of school. Sent a LOCI. She will likely pass on this though as Boston was her top choice and she has no interest in spending a year in Oakland for $85k/yr.

D24 got accepted for CS RD but Oakland first year. She is an international student and also has UMASS CS with 14k/year scholarship. I think UMASS will be better choice. Any suggestion will be helpful. She also has NCSU, IU and few other safeties.

I bid you all a fond farewell and congratulate the students who were admitted. Our son was not and yet somehow, I am confident life will not only go on, but will be wonderful nonetheless! Cheers!

UMass has an excellent and highly ranked CS program. My daughter goes to UMass (not for CS) and loves it.

She had also gotten in to NU (off the waitlist) by way of 1 semester on the Oakland campus. My daughter really wanted to start school where she planned to be for 4 years.

Plus there was no financial aid for the Oakland semester (at least for us), so the cost was staggering compared to UMass, where we are out-of-state but she got good merit.

Same. I was honestly expecting a rejection since it’s so competitive (older sibling was EA deferral–>rejection years ago).

Hope your kiddo is feeling ok about it today.

Engineering here as well

My D24 also accepted to London Global Scholars for CS+Neuro. Trying to find out more info on it. She’s been attending all the sessions but it’d be great to find someone with recent experience.

We are visiting Umass Amherst today. My D24 loved it. She is majoring in Animal Science. I was very pleasantly surprised by it. Great campus. We are from Seattle and also received merit to Umass. Her twin sister is the one that was accepted yesterday to NU Oakland after an EA deferral, which is why I’m in this thread.

No direct experience but friend’s son is in this program and absolutely loves it! Studying CS in London, program is amazing, very rigorous but great community of students and loves being in London/able to travel all over Europe.

Does anyone know about the housing at the London campus? Do we pay for room and board or do have to pay for the actual unit separately?
