Northeastern Transfer 2024

I haven’t seen anyone for Bouve. I’m applying for nursing which is within that college. Please let me know if you guys know anything different. It could be that these people are just not posting on cc or Reddit.

I will let you know if I see any changes! But there are probably less people who applied for nursing. Maybe that’s why you haven’t heard back yet. To me, it makes the most sense to release decisions in order or how many people applied for each major. If there are fewer spots left, it probably just means there are fewer applicants for other majors. I’m just going to look at it that way so I don’t lose all of my hope now.

it’s June 28th

that is so interesting. I am not sure what to make of that because I have actually never heard of anyone being waitlisted for transfer but what happens is someone declines on June 28th? do they not fill that spot?

Waiting until the last day to reject everyone is sociopathic wtffff

“Colleges track their yield percentages and use forecasting to decide how many admission offers to extend, knowing not all will enroll. Top universities have high yield ratios near 90%, while lower-ranked schools have lower yields, affecting their rankings. Declining an offer reduces a school’s yield percentage. If it drops below expectations, waitlisted students may be offered admission.”

I just saw this online, which means NEU has a high yield percentage. There’s not a big gap between enrolled students and available spots right now. Assuming most admitted students have already committed, I don’t think they have a waitlist for transfers.

Lol I mean if they did it last year why not this year…

Not to hate but 2024 was a record breaking application season of close to 100k apps so theres a chance they might not this year. BU didnt this year

True I didn’t even think abt that. But I’ve also seen some ppl commit to BU already, wouldn’t that open up more spots since they (hopefully) had to withdraw their seat?

I have never seen a waitlist for transfers. Just for first year applicants (high school seniors)

I’ve seen ppl on Reddit get waitlisted as a transfer. But idk if it’s the same for all school

Any portal changes?

No, you? I feel like if they’re going to release anymore acceptances they’re probably going to do it next week. I haven’t heard of neu having two waves on the same week

Its because someone said they would release all decisions by june 15th. I honestly think they are gonna go past that and send another wave on tuesday it seems odd to fall outta line of releasing decisions on tuesday. They also have that orientation thing on june 19th so idk. We all just have to hope i this point.

I wrote to Admissions and this is what they wrote back:

“The Fall Transfer application deadline is April 1st. All required materials must be submitted by April 15th. We start evaluating transfer applications after the April 15th deadline, and decisions come out on a rolling basis after that. You will be electronically notified of your decision no later than June 15th.”

I do not think, given the high amount of students nagging them for insight, they would wait a whole other week. I think it’ll be all done by Friday.

I’m waitlisted for two schools, but those decisions came out in mid-April. Also, USC has what they call “spring grade request” which is basically a waitlist.

I dont respect the secrecy of the decision release process. At least give us a date and time and the decency to give a rejection immediately so we can move on. Admissions acts as if decisions pop up randomly when there is clearly a methodology behind it. As someone who is anxious and does not want to return to my current school, it is unnecessarily nerve wracking.

Yeah, I’m not checking the portal anymore until I receive an email from them. This is just frustrating. At this point, I just want a response regardless of the decision.
