Someone stated earlier that merit applies but aid doesn’t apply until the spring semester.

you can take a train!

OMG why are you obsessed with this if you are going to Brown?

Agree. This student has had this CC account since 2014.

Something doesn’t add up.

I think it is a parent?

Not a parent.

Got it. Thanks.

I was confused because I read this in one of their posts that their daughter got into certain schools.

Ah. I just saw that. And on others she posts like she is the student. Hmm.

NEU used to offer $30k for NMF (used to be full tuition years ago) but the last couple for years they just say “a competitive scholarship” is offered and it seems folks get different amounts, perhaps somewhat based on need as well. It seems others have reported getting an additional $5k from their original merit offer when they were admitted. You can call the FA office tomorrow and ask for more information and discuss your needs. Also, are you sure it is $15k per year or is it listed as $15k per semester? Usually your aid offer shows an amount for the first year (two semesters) and then an amount per semester for the following times bc of coop breaks in your schedule.

I think it’s a parent too. A disgruntled parent.

One of the benefits I see with NUin is that you can include your abroad experience in your resume and companies really value you having to interact with people from all over the world.

Does anyone know if NU has a Health Profession Committee that rights letters of recommendation for students who want to apply to medical school?

I am following another thread about issues pertaining to those Universities that do have a committee, and the decision of whether or not the committee writes an LOR hugely impacts a students med school chances.

There is a committee letter process at Northeastern. You will get more concrete answers about the process by asking parents with students who have successfully been admitted and are attending medical school on the Parents Facebook group (there are several there who still answer questions about premed advising and co-ops).

Or, you can contact the pre-health advisors directly: https://undergraduate.northeastern.edu/prehealth/

Hey. Did you end up going to Northeastern for Music Industry? My son was deferred EA. If so, how do you like it?
