My son just received an email asking if he’d like an interview. Has anyone else received that? His counselor mentioned that with regular decision he probably isn’t going to get one the way you do for early decision. Thoughts?
First the interviews will have minimal bearing on the overall decision. It is just another input that will either confirm what the entire profile says or, sometimes, gives some insight. So don’t put much weight into this.
Your counselor is incorrect on this as there is no difference between ED or RD. NU relies on its alumni base for the interviews and if your sone or any student does not receive one, it’s completely based on availability of interviewers, nothing else. It doesn’t hurt for your son to put his name in for an interview. It’s not only another opportunity for NU to learn about him but for him to learn more on NU. And if he doesn’t get an interview, don’t sweat it. Again it is not a deal breaker whatsoever.

I get it-we’ve been through the process before, but my daughter didn’t receive interviews for regular and her first choice had no ED/EA. I totally understand what part they play in the application process, just wasn’t sure if for NU people were hearing for regular. He also just submitted, so it was just a little surprising. He has a family member that went and used to do alum interviews and has been talking to my son. He will see what happens!
Great! Yes I know multiple alums who does interviews (plus I am an independent college counselor). As your family member already told your son, if he gets an interview - he should just be himself.

My son received an e-mail today about scheduling an interview. We are in a large urban area so there are probably lots of Northwestern alumni.

My D also got the same email and she promptly responded. Nothing scheduled yet. The website says it depends on local availability.
Did anyone get an email from ISP to apply? Is that sent to everyone?
My son received it yesterday.

2028 applicant here. I did not get an email, but I applied to SESP, so it would make sense for me not to. Assuming it was just sent to WCAS and MEAS students. Maybe other students could update?

Can you explain what ISP is?
S24 got it as well. I think it goes to students that indicate math or science majors. Or maybe to everyone.

Does anyone know when decisions might come out? Is it typically all on one day or do they release in waves?
NU sent a letter to GC that decisions would be released on March 27. Based on previous experience, they were released at once in late afternoon.
