S22 rejected-

Stats 36, 1570. 3.87/4,67, heavy music and service ECs, relationship with HS.

A definite low point in the college admissions process. Loving learning, working hard, being engaged in the community was not enough. Legacy friends admitted.

Congratulations to those who received good news! Celebrating with you today

So sorry to hear your strong student get rejected. Hopefully he will be accepted to one more or great schools during RD.

I got in! 1580 (superscored) SAT, 3.99 GPA, excellent recommendations, great essays, good ECs, great awards, and good interview. Accepted into Weinberg for International Studies and Economics.

Accepted! In terms of what my portal looked like:

  1. The withdraw button showed up 2-3 days before the decision date
  2. The Welcome x (my first name) banner with the picture of the campus) remained the whole time
  3. The update my application and the drop down menu remained the whole time before the decision.
  4. However when I logged in to check the status update (after getting my email) the only things remaining were the Welcome x banner, withdraw button, and the button to click to see your result.

Stats: 1550 SAT, 35 ACT, 12 APs (all 5s), straight As, strong letters, essays that focused on community service. I didn’t do NHS and never took the PSAT so wasn’t a merit finalist. Not a legacy. Not an athlete.

Is it true that unlike other schools northwestern defers only a small percentage of Ed? Just trying to understand what means

I’ve read only 1-2% get deferred at NU. They have not released any ED stats yet, though.
