Northwestern HPME Part 1

and also, i don’t think there is any proof that Palmer calls interviewees based on distance from the med school. he might be going randomly or in alphabetical order.

It could be alphabetical. My last name starts with Abu-

That means they have done the screening.

is mr. palmer a young or old guy? Because I called in the office today and some guy picked up just for the honors program…so I guess I am wondering if that was him :P

He seemed sorta young. Hard to tell from the voice, but I would say that he is definitely not too old.

jason is a young guy. the HPME office isn’t huge so he probably answered the phone.

If you went to discover NU program, you would have seen Jason Palmer. He was present during HMPE presentation.

Has anyone else gotten an interview yet??

Anyone else got a call or rejection? Is it still just bballdude that has been invited? Any updates?

Nope, haven’t heard anything yet.

does anyone know approx how many people are sent hpme applications total?

I think 1000ish

how many are invited for interviews?

I heard 100ish

it’s really cold up here in Chicago. If you are coming to interview, don’t forget to get plenty of warm clothes! (I’m from California… I learned the hard way)

Haha. I live in Michigan…I like to think I am desensitized to cold weather.

so correct me if i’m wrong… out of all applicants: 1000 applications, 100 interviews, and 60 acceptances. so… 6% acceptance rate?

That is probably a very good estimate.

i think there actually might be less acceptances. there are only 20 some HPMEs in my class.

Keep in mind, not every acceptance turns into a matriculation, although I’m guessing the yield for HPME is pretty high. The Feinberg website says 35 HPME’s.
