Northwestern HPME Part 1

I never sent an abstract with my application and was accepted for interview, so i’m not so sure that it is necessary even. I guess that they believed me.

i want a prosbee! ask me questions.

hey so we get a rejection letter if we dont’ get the interview right? I don’t want to be waiting forever for it lol

i believe there is a rejection letter. a.kern has a prospie this thursday ciroh

How come some got their calls for interviews and rejection letters early and others are still waiting?
Are interviews and rejection letters done in batches?

I was wondering the same thing. (Still waiting on mine!)

Well, waiting is much better than a rejection letter (same boat here). I figure they will determine how many more interviews they schedule based on the strength of the interviews they are conducting now. Someone in the know wanna weigh in?

the interviews will trickle out over time. just sit tight and chill out

is the decision made by teh med school or undergrad? also I have my undergrad interview yesterday and my interviewer was a HPME graduate, think that will make a diff for the program interview?

now i can’t be sure, but i don’t think the undergrad interview affects HPME interviews. I assume as much because, from what i gather, HPME is a seprate entity.

and chilling is soooooo hard to do jon! but i’m sure you remember haha

Those who haven’t gotten calls yet, I think that they are waiting to see how many people call back for interviews. In my email, it said I had to call back within a week. Maybe if people do not call back in the allotted time, they will give interviews out to other candidates.

This is just a guess though and could be completele inaccurate and false.

easonh89: i have no idea. i could ask i guess but they probably wouldn’t tell me (it would ruin the suspense)

if you get an HPME interview you are pretty much accepted into the undergrad student. You undergrad interview, has no effect on your placement in HPME. HPME evaluates you with their own app and their own interviews (notice the plural… my interviews literally took all day 8-5)

jon did you apply to anyother ba/mds last year? did you get interviews?

i applied to the one at UCSD, I got an interview but wasn’t accepted into their program.

yay got an email today

really? I haven’t… hmmm… does ur last name start with a letter that comes before “S” ?

does anyone know for sure when they will stop giving out interviews?

no one knows that (except Green and Palmer)

jonthelin: are you still in the undergrad portion of the HPME program or the med part of it?

also, i just got an email to do an interview for Northwestern. but since you just said that if you get an HPME interview, that means you have already been accepted to Northwestern…then it is worthwhile at all for me to do the undergrad interview?

Could anyone of you please let us know what it means if we did not get an interview and we did not get a rejection letter? Does this mean we will definitely get an interview call? dont you think otherwise that they would have rejected us by now? waiting is an awful thing to do…
