Son accepted to McCormick
I got waitlisted smh
Son rejected Weinberg after ED Deferral (Both parents NU grads)
WGPA: 4.58 out of 5.0
SAT: 1470 combined
Tons of AP and super strong Math / Science recs
A Top rated Public School with 500+ in each class
Strong sports and community (many D3 offers for sports / State All Star etc in major team sports)
Triple Legacy - both parents grads + grandparent
Strong essay - I think that’s how he was even deferred given his stats
White, Suburban Northeast (although they say it doesn’t matter we need to remember NU has committed to taking hundreds of kids into this class from the Chicago Public School system this year following a growing trend in a number of classes before this one - so this impacts ALL applicants but especially the “non-diverse” I believe)
Despite the legacy his profile is not what NU is looking for anymore and it’s so competitive now we assume he just couldn’t hang in there with typical applicant that has what he has for activities but also has much higher (percentage wise at least) GPA and test scores. Don’t believe he showed enough interest after deferral to warrant admission as he did not send an LOCI until January a month after deferral. He will be attending another B1G school with strong academic reputation. Still a proud alum and applaud the evolution of Northwestern and its admissions. Best of luck to those admitted Welcome to the Wildcat family! For those rejected trust the process it will create the right fit between you and where you go to college. It will.
@Mmrosa Thanks! My D is rejected by Wharton and Northwestern but she is already accepted by WashU Olin and Osu fisher. I think she will go to Olin for sure, but I will keep pray for her. Good luck to your son!

GPA 3.98 (uw), 4.4 (w)

Wow @JDGPNJ if you can’t get in with those stats, I don’t know how anyone got in!
Rejected Weinburg
GPA 3.95 UW/4.7W (Second in my class of 150)
Sat: 1540 (790 math 750 English)
Subjects: 800 chem, 800 Math2, 760 World history
AP scholar with distinction, already received an AA degree
Good EC (class president, science NHS VP, academic team captain, varsity tennis, 400+ hours service etc)
From Central Florida. Asian male
My common app essay might’ve been mediocre but rewrote Why NU twice and thought it was good.
Acceptances: Georgetown, Case Western Reserve, Tulane + honors/scholarship, Northeastern + honors/Scholarship, UF honors.
Rejected: UChicago (ED2), MIT (defer then deny), WashU, and now NU
I’m waiting for a lot more schools including six ivies, Duke, Vandy, Stanford.
Emory comes out at 6pm so hope I get that!
I’m in as well. Brown and Northwestern have always been my dream schools, so I’m waiting to hear from Brown, but I’ll be happy either way. (If I get good finaid from NU).
Did any international student applying for aid get in?
@hahaharry123 you should be very proud of your acceptances. Very impressive!
Do any fellow accepted students know when the fin. aid decisions are mailed out/uploaded to the portal?
~1 week
@wingjuer My son has been admitted to Calvin College with a modest financial aid but we are still hoping for a better offer.

@nuvemseis
HPME accepted.
Congratulations to my daughter!
^^ It’s completely unpredictable. Don’t count on it and move on. (and I guess be proud to be good enough to be waitlisted by NU)
Thank you @GammaDelta , so the chances are pretty slim…
@socialscigeeek what school did you apply to?
@ironman67 not sure, but I withdrew my finaid request to boost my chances and got waitlisted. Wouldn’t have stood a chance with any aid request I think. You?
