Northwestern Transfer Applicants Fall 2019

I don’t believe that NU takes away the checklist. I applied ED last year, and it never went away. What did go away, however, is the part to the right where it thanks you for applying to whatever school you applied to. There were theories that when that went away, it meant that your decision was made. Typically, those accepted had theirs there for a longer time - for example mine went away a few weeks before decision day last year, while people accepted had theirs up until the release time almost.

Of course, not sure if this is still true this year.

has anyone’s right side disappeared?

@northwestern30 nope, mine still has the thing saying they are “delighted” that I applied to Weinberg

Same. My message is still there

Same here.

Same here.

@TimJ00 @northwestern30 @seahawksjoe sorry for the confusion guys, I was responding to @igottatransfer about the Uchicago application who’s checklist disappeared last week.

For those still waiting, I got what I think is good news. I was speaking with someone in administration at NU today and they said they are looking for 200 transfer students this year, which is about 50 more than last year. He also said they have transfers coming in through June. This employee is definitely in a position to know the details of the headcount. The fact that they need a bigger class should increase everyones chances. Good luck!

thank you for the info! By chance, do you know if we could hear decisions in June?

I did not feel like I could ask what was meant by there are still students coming in June. If I had to guess, I would think that was students getting off the waitlist. I think it is unlikely they will wait until June to get back to people with at least an additional decision. The only thing I think you can take from what was said is that there are still a lot of decisions yet to come and that they need more transfer students this year than they have in recent years.

okay, thank you for the info!

Are we expecting a wave today? It would be around 5:30 again right?

Yea does anyone know what time the decisions usually come out?

Yeah, I would imagine a wave around 6:30est/5:30cst.

Hopefully today is a wave

Would assume today is a wave (since there was no wave last week). I completed my materials on March 26th, so I guess It’s time to just wait and see. Good luck to all

@etransfer2019 Last year Northwestern accepted 280 transfer but 150 students enrolled. So by them saying they need 200 students I think it’s more likely that the amount of accepted students increase above 300. Also they have kept the transfer acceptance rate right on 15% for the past couple of years so maybe that person saying that is a sign that the acceptance rate increases to accommodate for their yield rate. Anyways, it’s good news either way, just that there are a lot of people who get accepted but don’t go.

Hope there is a wave. I need to commit to one of the schools by the end of today as its due today. I wish to hear what Northwestern says before I could make that decision.

Will there be another wave today?

Good luck to you all. Hopefully, we can meet in the fall.
