@Shibykin Don’t mean to be rude but I am sure ALL of us want to be able to choose from more than 1. But now that I am rejected from UCLA and UCSD and seeing how many people with awesome stats are also rejected, I am not so sure of my chances of being accepted into any of the UCs I applied for. So now, getting into 1 UC will be good enough for me. And I think it applies to some of us here too. So sometimes your comments might rub people the wrong way IMO.

But CONGRATS on getting into UCSD and UCSC so far though! The feeling must be awesome :D

I talked to one of my friends who got accepted to SD and Irvine, and she told me that people who applied to Merced and got in were more likely to be rejected from SD and Irvine… Is this true? She made me worried because I applied to Merced (all UC’s, lol…) and so far, got rejected from LA and SD, and still waiting on UCI.

No honors for sure. ): Orientation was yesterday.

^, doesn’t make sense that ones who made it into Merced won’t make it into SD or Irvine.
Sounds more like it would be true only if your stats were fit for Merced.

Uhm, I had a friend who got rejected from UC Merced, but got into UCLA, so… Idk about the thing you’re hearing. It’s just really weird how they’re evaluating people!

im becoming incredibly nervous about this D:
so far… my friends from school who HAVENT gotten decisions from UCI are:
1 IB kid who applied for business admin
1 4.2 UC GPA kid
1 3.7 UC GPA kid w/ 1800 SAT I & applied for biochem
1 kid who has gotten rejected from BOTH ucr and ucsc D:
Me w/ the 3.4 UC gpa ;_; & 1850 SAT I who applied for european studies LOOL
as you can see… everything is totally random D: i find it really hard to find a pattern in who gets notified first and who doesnt ):
i hope this doesnt mean, though, that we ALL get rejected from UCI D: …
but then again… i had friends last year who got accepted in the last week of march or on the 31st… but that IS last year :T
and i STILL dont know anyone who has been rejected from UCI which makes me even more worried because i think the people who havent been notified yet MIGHT be the rejects?! <– pulling it out from my butt, of course…
aigoo… T^T i just want my answer soon! (please)

I wouldn’t go that far to call them not smart. I have 2 friends who haven’t heard anything yet and they got accepted into UCSD, they have good GPAs and solid SATs. 1 of my friends who hasn’t gotten anything yet has a higher GPA but pretty low SATs and one with high SATs and a 3.5 GPA. I mean anything is possible

Then again I mean I haven’t heard many rejections at all so far, which is kinda scary. It is times like this where I kind of thank myself for choosing undeclared/undeclared if alot of majors start to go impacted and the remaining students either get rejected or waitlisted (which if that’s the case I hope to god I’m waitlisted at least or something)

im not saying they arent smart. It’s just they arent the smartest friends i have. They have around 3.7 and 2000’s SAT which means they are smart enough :).

Yeah that is true, most of my friends who already got a letter from Irvine were like top 8% in my school. But srsly bro, I hope to god this doesn’t mean that the remaining students get rejected/waitlisted. FAWK

lol all my friends who havent heard from UCI are all business admins :(. Sigh why did I also choose that major. PRAYS FOR ACCEPTANCE :D

In my opinion, I do not like how UCI has decided to release their admission notices. Although it helped ease many people’s concerns if they got it early on, it causes panic and paranoia in other perfectly qualified students. Again, this is just my thoughts.
