Not the typical CC'er

I’m helping a friend’s daughter (she’s from India) with college selection. She is looking for a couple of safeties - she has an IB Diploma (barely passed) and her SAT’s are on the low side too. She did a gap year after high school and has had pretty great internships. Are there any schools that she would definitely get in. She is looking at majoring in Business and would like a school with a fairly decent sized International population. Big schools, small schools, everything works. Any suggestions??

Can you please post the numbers?

Dandemom, is money an issue? If your friend is willing to pay $50K/year there are many universities in the US that would be happy to take her daughter.

try Purdue …

Money is not an issue. She got 1050 on the SAT (out of 2400) and barely passed the IB’s. Purdue is on her list. Would that be a sure shot? She is looking at schools in the following states only: New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Indiana & Massachussets. How about Rutgers, Penn State, BU and UIUC? She’s got great recs from her internship - would that help her with schools like Babson and Bentley?

I would look at some SAT optional schools… Are you sure her SATs aren’t out of 1600?
Btw, if finance isn’t really an issue, you should be able to find some nice schools!

I saw a list somewhere with SAT optional schools at CC a couple of days ago, I’ll try to find it for you!
(I think BU and most of the other schools might be quite a reach as for now…)
