I just got a Nikon Coolpix P100. I’ve never uploaded pictures from this camera onto my computer before… When I plug the USB card in, nothing pops up so that I can upload them. What do I do ?

Usually Nikons come with a CD that has upload software called Nikon Transfer on it. Did you get that and have you installed it yet?

Go to My Computer

I tried installing the CD but nothing happens…

I’ve never uploaded pictures from this camera on this computer before, so the device is not installed, and therfore is not in My Computer.

Does the CD show up when you go to My Computer?

Yes, thanks! There are so many folders and subfolders… do you know what I’m supposed to click to upload my pictures?

Wait, so is the software installed now?

It’s under My Computer so I think so.

Well, I think you still have to install, so you have to click on the CD and the installer stuff should come up.

Nope, nothing’s coming up… ugh, I’m so bad with technology.

Haha, I’m probably just confusing you more. Lol. Sorry, I’m terrible with explaining things. Um, so does the camera or memory card show up at all in My Computer?

There are bold words that read ‘Devies with Removable Storage’ and Nikon Software Suite is the only thing listend under that. When I click on Software Suite, it says ‘Files Currently on the CD’ and there are a bunch of folders and subfolders. The folders are ArcSoft, DirectX 9, FileUploader, Help, Items, etc.

Oh and no you’re helping me!! I actually forgot about the CD… so thank you! … stupid 60-second rule.

Oh wait, I thinkkkkk it’s installing…

Ok, what did you click?

****, installation didn’t work… I clicked File Uploader then DISK1 then Setup.

Ok. Do you have your camera or memory card plugged up into the computer?

I tried twice but it says “The wizard was interrupted before File Uploader could be completely installed. Your system has not yet been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again”

Yeah, my camera’s plugged in.

Ok, that’s weird. Do you see anything in My Computer about the camera being hooked up? I was going to try something else that I did before.

Nope
10char

:/ Nothing? Have you tried pressing the power button on the camera?
