Notre Dame Restrictive Early Action 2022

@northwesty – the confirm.nd.edu is unchanged – still says can’t find that combination of id and birthdate

I tried to log in with the ID from the student portal and my birthday. same error message

Got it.

So either ND isn’t tipping their hand this year like last year. Or today isn’t the day.

Doubt anything new/useful will emerge until kids start trying to log in at 18:42:01

I would be surprised if the decision came tomorrow. seems more likely that it would come on the feast of Our Lady than on any random day

Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe… hope they’re waiting for that. And more importantly, hope you’re all having a great feast day!

How many people think it will be today?

Do any of you think that today is the day??? Could 1842 still be the time? I called my friend in ND who works in recruiting and said that he has no official answer but more than likely it will be before this Friday. I noticed some students heard back from Stanford last Friday and today is Harvard… I guess some colleges want their own day. More than likely its probably tomorrow.

@ak9800 I hope so. Surprisingly much more calm today though. Super nervous yesterday but the one day has made me much, much calmer. See, ND does know what’s best I guess!

Stanford was last Friday, but they had announced that specific date ahead of time, not a range like ‘middle of December’.

From what I’ve checked, at least for the last two years, Notre Dame has released its REA decisions on the 12th. I don’t see a reason why it won’t be today. We will find out around 7PM I guess.

Harvard has a page up saying decisions will be announced tonight after 7. That is an admirable way to conduct yourself.

Princeton comes out tomorrow, so if tomorrow is the day… I may die twice within 2 hours

@tictactoe2022 Two years ago, ND posted decisions on the portal on Mon, Dec 14. Last year, ND posted decisions on the portal on Mon, Dec 12.

That is why there was so much speculation from this year’s applicants that yesterday evening would be the day for this year’s REA decisions.

DS already got a NO from Stanford, but was expected. We didn’t know until too late that they were the only school on his list that required ACT/SAT with writing and didn’t have time to do it again. I had already paid for the application so we didn’t formally withdraw and just waited for them to say NO, and they did. I know we are all anxious, but ND isn’t the only school that gives a range of dates vs. an exact one, so don’t get upset.

Murph – Isn’t Princeton “single” choice early action? ND wouldn’t care, but Princeton might…

Stanford is also “restrictive” early action. They don’t allow other private schools unless it’s for scholarship consideration.

Kansas – same question for you. Stanford is SCEA also…

Yep, Stanford too. I think in the rush to get things done a lot of students miss these details.

ETA: I’m sure the admissions staff is doing their best to get this over with. They get only a small break before the piles of RD apps arrive.

Uh, I think ND absolutely would care.

Hey everybody, reading ND’s newspaper article about last year’s release is not going to make them release them any sooner. You all have read it so much it is now “trending”.
