November 2010 SAT - Math

Oh dipole, for the d 4.7 question I agree with you, I think there was some other one where I had II and III.

So far I think I have an 800 (although probably not on CR…)

(2.410^x)+(3.610^y) = 3630
What was x+y?

5.

You need to add 3600 + 230 to get the answer.

did anyone get the question which involved t/2 and t and 12 hours or something like that? If so, can someone please explain it?

I believe it was the last math MC question on my test.

Yeah
4ax^2-bx+4c
f(1)= 4a(1)^2 -b(1) + 4c
4a -b +4c

f(-1)=4a(-1)^2 -b(-1) + 4c
= 4a +b + 4c

So F(1) + F(-1) = 4a + 4a + b + (-b) + 4c +4c = 8a + 8c = 8(a+c) = 8(15) = 120

Agreed.

From what I recall: One pump drains a pool in t hours. Another pump drains the pool in t/2 hours. Together, each working at full capacity, they drain the pool in 12 hours. What is t?

Yay, I got the 120 one right! I finished the problem and filled it in exactly a second before the guy called time LOL.

Does anyone remember the answer to a question where the choices were:
a) something
b) 9
c) 18
d) 81
e) something? Sorry to be so vague - I can’t even remember the question, I guessed so blindly. I think it was the second to last question in a section.

What did you guys get for the surface area of the block thingy?

I answered 45 questions:/ and i know i got 2 wrong. What do u think my score would be? 650?

yes, but what’s the answer to that Billy?

5 errors, 2 omits. 700? maybe?

if da curve is loving lol

peachiemonkey, I got 81. Anyone else get that?

for the 7^1600, my brain remembered some trick my teacher taught me back in…seventh grade (?) about exponents. it had something to do with the ones digits of numbers being the same…basically, 7^4, 7^8, 7^12 and so on would all have the same ones digit.

i tested that out first and i got 1 for my ones digit for 7^4, 7^8, 7^12, 7^16 and 7^20 so i just assumed that 7^1600 would follow suit so i marked 1 for my answer.

i could be wrong though! math is usually my worst section so don’t take my answer as a complete truth.

what do u think i got? I had 9 omits!!! and 2 errors and 43 right

what is the answer to this question?
From what I recall: One pump drains a pool in t hours. Another pump drains the pool in t/2 hours. Together, each working at full capacity, they drain the pool in 12 hours. What is t?

what is a experimental?

****. I thought i had a 800 on this one for sure. F-MY-Life. What’s -2?

what do u think i got? I had 9 omits!!! and 2 errors and 43 right !

I didn’t get the pump one,
Please explain it; how is the answer 36?.. I shudda just omitted it, rather than guess blindly -_-
