November SAT- VERSION ONE- BLockbuster moives

Please use this thread to discuss the version with the dual Passage on Blockbuster movies ( since there were 2 completely different test today!

As much of the blockbuster section I hopefully remember… Did anyone get these:

What author of passage 2 would say - fundamentally wronged
Tone describing Jaws 2 - unenthusiastic
Both passages directly stated - blockbusters were a major goal
Passage 1 stated an idea that Passage 2 disagreed with
Reason for question - bring up a different but relevant idea
Different views of Star Wars - passage 1 part of an existing formula, passage 2 from personal experience
Both filmmakers were focused more on artistic rather than financial value

@pocket,
do you remember what the choices were for “What author of passage 2 would say” + “both passages directly stated” + “passage 1 stated an idea that passage 2 disagreed with”?

other than these questions, I had the same answers as you

Was it not asking what value of n satisfies n=. 1/n

i thought the ALice and birthday passage was easy… also did you get doleful as an answer to a sentence completions?

SC’s -

spurious,
cogent,
doleful,
tenacious

please add!

Oh and what was the average speed (40mph one way and 60 back home)?

48 on the average speed one

I remember getting spurious, cogent, and tenacious. I didn’t get doleful, but I’m pretty sure I messed up that one.

By the way, what do you think the curve will be like for each section?

@myButler
“What author of passage 2 would say” - some answer choices were along the lines of “_____ acceptable,” “______ supported” - sorry I can only remember these vaguely, but I recall each adjective had an adverb in front, hence the “_____”

“Passage 1 stated an idea that passage 2 disagreed with” - other answer choices were passage 1 criticized the same idea as passage 2, passage 1 showed the process of filmmaking

@momof2ky
I put spurious, cogent, and tenacious, didn’t put doleful. I remember I put chastened/contrite for one though. For the math it was 40 mph to Town A and 50 mph back home. I set distance = 10. Average speed = total distance/total time = 20/(5/12) = 48

@momof2ky, I do not think it was doleful. All of my friends say it was chastened … contrite for the sentence completion about being humble and regretful.

I don’t think it was doleful. I’m fairly sure it was chastened contrite.

I’m ****ed I couldn’t get the inscribed triangle with radius 5 or the last free response with the 4 points on the circle.

It was chastened and contrite. For the grammar section was it “audience for whose views…” or “audience whose views”

@costudent7

Inscribed Δ with radius 5: hypotenuse = 10, use Pythagorean’s Thm to find the other base = 6 (given base = 8), then area = (1/2) bh = 24

4 points on circle: radius (given) = 128/π, circumference = 2πr = 256, the arc was (3/4) the circumference = 192

@cherym

I put “audience whose views”

there was in inscribed triangle that ended up being a 6/8/10 triangle, is that the one you are talking about? give me more info on the 4 points question and I can tell you…it was like q,r,s,t and it was 3/4’s of the circumference? ugh cant remember…

Well, it looks like I may be ****ed in reading, but I did very good in math

thanks pocket…that was it! 3/4 s of the circle was 192

no the 6/8/10 was a different question. r was the center and q,s,t were points on the circle

How many no errors did yall get?

oops i posted on the wrong thread…
