Attention NSLI-Y Semifinalists: While NSLI-Y recommends that semifinalists be prepared to submit passport information by late February, semifinalists do not actually have to submit passport information. Finalists will be required to submit a scanned COLOR copy of the SIGNED face page of their passport when accepting their award. Finalists will also begin working with their placement organization on securing a visa, if necessary, upon their acceptance. Thanks for your patience and let us know if you have any questions.

Finalists will learn their program date when they are notified of becoming a finalist of the program in March or April.

They might have sped up the review process.
Even if they do say March or April, I feel like Russia summer would find out the first week of March (if we don’t find out this week). I applied for Russia Summer so I’m just hoping they will tell us first like in the past.

Who does/does not already have their passport?
I have mine, but i travel frequently so I always have to make sure it’s still valid. Seriously, my parents applied for my passport/chinese visa 10 days after I was born the nostalgia sniffs
Ugh they seem to always be so vague about the time line!!! I wish they just told us when we could really expect the notification.

Same message (about the passport) was posted on facebook on 2/24/2014. The notification for China program came out on 3/25/2014.
