Number of Classes I should take - JAPAN

Hi, I study at a Japanese high school, and I want to study in the states, especially at a some what well-known university. I was just wondering if it is considerably important for us, international applicants, to take as many classes as possible in school OR devote free time to studying for the SAT.
I could take all the classes provided, but since all the classes are designed for students preparing for Japanese universities, the things we study are completely different from what American students would be studying. I know I should take as many classes as possible, but I want to have more time to study for the SAT - so should I be taking more classes and risk a low SAT score, or take a overall selection of classes and devote more time for the SAT?
ALSO, I have posted a thread in the “What are my Chances” section, but I haven’t gotten any replies, mainly because I am inernational. So, if you can help me out, please read my thread over there. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=298391

Have a decent courseload, and prepare for the SAT. The test is very difficult for most internationals, and takes a lot of patience to get used to, but once you’re ready you should be good to go. The point is to study how to take the test and not the contents of the test.

I suggest that you take the calculus if you have not done so.It is required
to major in Econ and all the allplicants will have been finished the subject before the kind of the colleges you are aiming for.

Calculus in Japanese school is 数3…specifically 微分積分. Hope that helps.
