NUS (Singapore) accommodation options???

Hi!

I’m a girl from Finland going to NUS as an exchange student for next spring, and now’s the time to apply for the accommodation. But I really don’t know which option I should put as the first… I’ve heard that most of the exchange students live at PGPR, but is it really somehow better than the halls? Are the rules (e.g. about guests, partying etc.) as strict in all campus accommodation options, or is life in e.g. PGPR more free in that sense? I have to say, I’m a bit worried about all these strict rules of NUS (and Singapore in general) that I’ve read about…

I hope someone could help me! Thanks!

hey…
well yes most exchange students do live in pgpr…the rules are way more strict on paper than in actuality lol…so dont be overtly concerned…
it depends on what u want…in pgp u’ll be free to do whatever u please…its a typical condomanium type lifestyle…as for the halls…each hall is like a fraternity…they hv their own activities and functions…
but without doubt pgp rooms are better than most hall rooms…
cheers

Thank you for your reply! I think I’ll apply for the PGPR as the first option. Good to hear that the rules aren’t that strict in practice…

Hi!

I decided that I’ll put PGPR as the first choice, and after it Kent Ridge Hall & Eusoff Hall. But now I can’t decide which option of the PGPR rooms (A/B/C) I should prefer… How are the shared showers & toilets in PGPR? I mean, is it worth to pay 50 SGD extra per week for having an own bathroom?

i shud choose
Pgpr A type
Kent ridge
Eusoff Hall

hell yeah, tis worth the extra 50 SGD lol…
but the showers are ok…even the girl ones lol…but yeah the A type is defo worth it…cheers

Ok, thank you, that’s what I wanted to hear! Because I was also thinking myself, that I would probably prefer the A type. I just wanted someone to convince me :)

hehe…anyhoo see you in singapore…cheers
