NYT article on changes in what's most prestigious career

Seems that it’s my week for posting articles to CC. This NYT piece discusses how the notion of what’s the most ‘prestigious’ career is in flux, and how this may affect the plans of college students. I think it’ll be very interesting to see how these possible changes will play out in CC discussion over the next 5 years. By that time, D2 will be in 12th grade, so odds are good I’ll still be here. That sounds like a good reason not to make any predictions that could be thrown back in my face :)

Apparently prestige and income are the same in some people’s mind. While finance jobs frequently come with high income, that doesn’t mean they’re prestigious. Grads were going into these fields for the money not prestige.
