Hey guys, did you get anything? What about Shanghai,I actually do not know a lot of information(

Got my flight details through today, has anyone else? What time are you guys arriving?

Any news about the weekend Yet, I guess the process might be over till now!

Nope,I did not get the information about the CW.It is strange, that I donât know the single person who received the invitationduring the last week. How is it possible?Couple of variants:1)There is no second date for sending the invitations.2)There is the second round, but there are no people who got the invitation and posted this big news here.3)There is something that we donât know.Anyway,I wish to everybody luck and happiness. This have been a great experience even though it was not easy.

well, itâs the last day of november⊠and still no invitation. or a reply from the admissions office.
so im going to accept that fact and start preparing my regular decision apps for other schools!
thanks everyone for posting information good luck to all of you!

My son is in his Junior year at NYUAD - he went to Tisch in NY for his fall semester and will be doing his spring semester in London - in between he does his J-Term in Abu Dhabi. We have had a lot of waiting and turn arounds to do regarding travel. The travel agency Omeir is seemingly overwhelmed right now -You can imagine when they started they had 150 travel arrangements to make + those for the CWâs. Now there are about 500 students + teachers who get to travel home over the holidays, then to their J-Terms and then to their Spring semester - and there are CWâs in December, January and February (March too I believe) So donât panic yet about tickets. If you were invited, youâll get there.

@abudhabi-mama, Thank you so much for your information. I have been waiting to get my E-Ticket, and I wasnât quite sure why I hadnât received it yet. Your explanation makes sense. Thank you.

@LizaTB, Nice! Have you gotten your Pre-Departure email yet? What classes did you apply for? Iâm so excited :)

And everybody who hasnât yet received the Candidate Weekend Invitations, I really do wish the best of luck to you. I hope that nothing will overwhelm you guys too much. Itâs very difficult to have to work on college applications and focus on school studies at the same time (especially if you have a ton of ECâs!).

Guys!!! I just got my pre-departure email, Facebook invitation from a woman in the admissions office called Erin and my e ticket. Still awaiting my insurance and visa.

Still considering what classes to register for and what object to bring with me. What objects would impress you if someone got from Egypt?!

Guys, do we receive admission decision DURING candidate weekend?

Urgent response required guys! :D

In the page where we are expected to register for sample courses, they ask you about your top three priorities for intended major.

How should I point out on this page if I intend on double majoring?!

@osamasayegh,

a. You can get anything you feel strongly about.
b. Weâll get the admission decision after the candidate weekend - somewhere around 15th December, I suppose.
c. Haha, that form is just for the sample classes you want to take at the CW. This is not your proper course selection. I am sure theyâll ask you about that after youâre admitted, and then you can convey that you want to double-major.
Good luck! :)

Guys are you supposed to receive an email if your nomination was sent???

@HangingOnStars I received a confirmation of my nomination around a week after the nomination deadline, which was October 1st for ED1âers. The email was congratulatory in nature, and it reminded us that a nomination should not be mistaken as an application for admission, so on and so forth. By the way, if you get an invitation to the January 31st - February 3rd CW, I just might bump into you.

@LizaTB, @unfathomable, @PeaceDove, @osamasayegh, @De12345, @Russiarules, @thinhtran3006, and anyone else Iâm forgetting, congratulations to you all, and Iâm rooting for each and every single one of you to do your best at Candidate Weekend! Itâs so exciting to see that so many of us have made it this far. And when all of you get accepted, donât forget to remember little old me who couldnât be there with you guys this time around, haha. I hope Iâll get to meet all of you formally in September. :)

@FrancaiseLove, Thanks a ton. I really hope the best for you as well. I really enjoyed the few conversations we had together on Facebook, and I genuinely hope to further converse with you next fall! :)

I have an important question.

If my nomination was sent last week, does that mean I have to apply for RD? Can I apply ED 2???

Please helppp!!! I have no idea and Iâm freaking outttttt

@HangingOnStars No, that doesnât mean youâd have to apply for Regular Decision, I think. There are three nomination deadlines: May 10th, October 1st, and December 1st. The website doesnât specify which deadline is for which admission round. What it does specify is that the ânomination must be received in advance of the studentâs application.â The EDII deadline is January 1st, so Iâm guessing that if youâve sent your nomination by December 1st, in advance of your EDII application, all should be fine. Make sense?

Yeah, thanks!!!
Itâs just that I saw the old nomination form for the counselor from 2009, and it said that nominations submitted on or before December 1st will only be considered for RD admission. Perhaps it is an older regulation. Thank you so much!

Iâm just so worried now. My counselor just informed me that my nomination wasnât sent due to missing information, and now she is in a foreign country because her mother is in the hospital. I have less than 3 hours to send it. I donât know what to do. She said sheâd send it asap. :S

LOL. Then youâre unlucky. I just managed to send my nomination with my counsellor an hour before the deadline last night.

Lucky me too. Sent it 27 minutes before the deadline. :)

Okay! None of the things on the Candidate weekend portal or the NYU website or the emails they sent me mention the words, âNomination essayâ. Can someone please elaborate about what exactly this is.
