NYU Abu Dhabi

@hsawok yeah I am! where are you from? are you applying ED2?

@LizaTB Leeds, but I lived in Manchester for a while =D I’m Sarah by the way =) and yep sent off my EDII app a few weeks ago, fingers crossed lol

Aww wow! I’m from Cheltenham, in Gloucestershire  As you can probably guess i’m Liza :p

good luck!

aww thanks love, hope to see you in the fall then xx

Rejected :(

I’m so sorry man, did you get any feedback? I mean according to your profile (stalker i know =P) you’re only 15?? dude you’ve got plenty of potential!

Oh! That must be some stupid mistake. I’m 17.

lol that’s really funny, and I thought i was applying young at 16, aww dude, listen i’m sure that the uni that accepts you will be the best for you, i’m a firm believer in that xx

@osamasayegh To be completely honest with you, getting as far as you did is an honorable achievement in itself. You were hand picked out of, I’m sure, hundreds of candidates to be a part of this amazing experience. I’m certain you gave it everything you had, and the fact that you have come this far tells me you have a lot of success waiting for you in your future. That success may not be at NYU Abu Dhabi, but instead at another great university elsewhere. Good luck and keep us updated on your journey.

@LizaTB, @unfathomable, and @PeaceDove I know I’ve reached out personally to congratulate all of you, but I really thought a CC post was in order to celebrate your success. What you guys have accomplished is nothing short of extraordinary. Last year, there were 15,520 applicants, and in the end, 208 applicants were admitted. That makes for an acceptance rate of 1.34%. I feel like an incredibly proud mother! Hahaha. :stuck_out_tongue: As for everyone else that’s been accepted (who I don’t have the honor of knowing), the same goes for you!

Congrats to all of you guys! @osamasayegh, keep going no matter what  You’ll end up in a college I’m sure you’ll love

@FrancaiseLove, @andreaval. thanks for your epic condolences! I was epicly depressed for a majority of last night until my best friend got her acceptance letter with full scholarship to Williams College (fifth best liberal arts uni in all of the states) last night and I realized that regardless of NYUAD’s decision, I can’t give up. I will fight for my dreams to the death!!! I love you all guys and I am honored to have joined you in being a part of this unforgettable experience :’(

all I can say :)

On the 18th of December I got an email from NYU. I thought that it was a reject since I wasnt invited to the CW. However, they said that I didnt make it in the ED1 but they will consider me for ED2. They also asked me to send some more school transcripts. Did that happen to anyone?

Hi everyone , I’m Nigerian and finally finishing up my application for ED 2 is there anyone for me to talk to ?

@Ingush I received the same email. I couldn’t attend the first Candidate Weekend due to an issue with my passport, so they rescheduled me for the second Candidate Weekend in January. This meant that my application shifted from Early Decision I to Early Decision II. Did you apply to solely to NYU Abu Dhabi or one of the other campuses as well? I would suggest to contact the admissions office if you’re in any way confused. Good luck.

@Chachis96 Congratulations on getting this far with your app. And of course, you can talk to any of us! :)

Hey guys, I’ve been reading up on this forum and it seems like a wonderfully supportive group of people! I just submitted my app for Regular Decision. I went back and forth for a long time between ED II and RD… and I finally went with RD for financial reasons. I really, really want this though, but I feel like I might be slightly less qualified than everyone else. The admissions rate is SO. TINY. I don’t even want to think about it. Also, how disappointing would it be to be invited to a CW and then not be offered admission? I’m sorry for those who have experienced this :frowning: Good to meet you all!

@FrancaiseLove I only applied to Abu Dhabi. I did contact them and they told me that I should send rest of my school transcripts immediately. This is so stressful. I thought for like two weeks that I have been rejected so i was extremely happy to hear that they will review my application again. However, this makes me so nervous. Thanks for replaying love! x

Good luck to all ED2 and RD :)

Good luck to everyone who applied for ED2 and RD! Please do post when you hear about the Candidate Weekend! I am anxious to know. :)

@Ingush did you apply solely to* (sorry, grammar is my pet peeve, haha). Congratulations on being considered for EDII. I sincerely hope everything works out for you. :)

@beanpod11 As you already know, nothing is guaranteed in life. We have to take risks, and in the process, face the possibility of rejection. What’s that old saying? The greater the risk, the greater the reward? :stuck_out_tongue: Although I can’t speak for everyone, I’m sure many of us felt a bit insecure about being pooled with such a talented, bright group of individuals. But at the end of the day, I think each applicant brings something unique to the table. Good luck on this journey, and keep us updated.

@De12345 Hope you enjoyed CW! Are you officially a part of NYUAD’s Class of 2017? :)
